Since the trail cam forum is generally slow this time of year I would love to see a topic here of guys who have pics of the same buck for many years. I think it would be really neat to see how they have aged over time.
Unfortunately I can't start the example because I don't have any trail cam...
I have used one and for the money i really don't think they are worth it.
They are very, very fast and take a lot of pics but the downside is the pic quality is not that good and they take 10 AA batteries.
The flash is also horrible on them which is one of the main reasons they don't take...
Do any of you know if there is a free aerial photo website available for IL that is like the one that is available on this site where it shows counties and county lines?
If you really want the mineral to benefit the deer i would stay away from products like deer cocaine which is mainly salt.
If you want a mineral that will both benefit and attract than I would use antler kings mineral or Max Rack or something similar. In their ingredients salt only makes up...
I am going to be trying Vital bow gears single pin sight this year. I had one of their multi pin sights last year but w/ the purchase of a new 82nd Airborne and those pin distances shrinking considerably I think I can handle a single pin.
I don't know if guys would want to try this on their hunting farms where they are planting trees but when the deer started to rub our trees on the tree farm real bad we took soap on a rope and put that on the barrier of all the trees.
The bucks did not rub nearly as many trees after that, but...
Here is a good friend of mine Mr. Dallas Ft. Worth who got poison Ivy while filming me last year. This is what he looked like in less than 24 hrs. Needless to say i lost my cameraman for early season last year, as he got much worse from here.

After working at my families tree farm for a few years when i was younger, I will never plant a cedar or pine in the spring again.
Ours we had to water once a week once summer started coming. Alot of them died.
My suggestion for planting these is to only plant them in the fall for future...

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I can roll around in it any time of the year and I don't get it. </div></div>
I had a friend who said the same thing to me once and then helped...
I get down wind of the stuff and I start to itch!
It seems no matter what sometime during the year I will get it bad.
The best thing I have done for myself in recent years is when I am in the woods and I feel like I touched or got saw dust on me, I will find the nearest creek and splash that...
A lot of great advice here.
My advice w/ such a small piece is keep the pressure down as much as possible.
When you are going to do work in there w/ food plots, TSI, trails, etc get in there and get them done. Don't waste time.
I like the idea of a food plot only 50 yds in at the most. If...
My neighbor has had about standing milo planted the last three years for his bird population.
This was the first year that I saw it really get hit hard by deer and that only happened when it was the only food left standing.
The year before when we had a much milder winter it didn't hardly...
Ok I'm getting kind of technical here but here is my question. When you are in the woods and trying to range something for example "in between trees" does your rangefinder go in between them or does it pick them up.
I have an old 440 and it is very good at getting small readings in the woods...
Re: Clover/ Durana
Has anyone heard of yuchi arrowleaf clover?
I was reading a management book here the other day based out of the south and they were very high on this clover. They said it was the highest protein based clover they found as well as the most drought and disease resistent...
I guess that goes to wonder why whitetail institute is putting protein in there mineral bags.
Thanks for the quick replies guys.
The food plots are already available but i would really like to get the deer as much protein as possible during this growth stage so i was looking at other...
I have a question w/ an additive to these mineral sites. i seen that whitetail institute uses a protein additive to there mineral mix.
What could this be and where could I get some to add?
i want o try to get as much protein out to these deer as posssible.
