    "Lesser Expensive" No-Till Drills???

There is a thread somewhere that talks about the M series. It's got a cultipacker rear on it instead of packer wheels and no gearbox, which I've been told that's the best part of the G series. The gearbox fine tunes seed rate as you speed up or slow down.

Story time. How did you buy your first farm?

Great thread idea and awesome stories so far. I've been in a family roofing business since I was a teenager, riding bikes after school to jobs to work with dad so I could save money for dirtbikes and toys that were out of reach otherwise. Didn't go to college and jumped right into roofing. Long...

    Current Walnut Pricing

Last administration the best economy ever...you can't be serious. Biden will go down as one of , if not the worst president ever. That's hardly debatable Trump is just past 100 days in, we got a ways to go before you can judge his term, IMO

    Future of CRP

CRP could use some tweaks to the program, no doubt. $300/acre as you reference is a rare case. I would guess most are much lower than that and average around $150/acre There were a few years where the pendulum swung out a little too far and they overshot the mark on what it should pay based on...

Where to rent a tree spade??

How do you transplant with that scoop? I assume just scoop the bare ground where you are putting the tree?

    Future of CRP

Right...like 80% of it, which is pure insanity. Talk about a program that needs a major overhaul

    Future of CRP

Land is an investment, sure, and the buyer had put a lot of money down to own it. $5000 CRP payment, as in Hardwood's case covers the tax with a little leftover. You are calling it the govt. paying for the land is way off. CRP is the govt's way of keeping some acres in what they want it to be...

    Mulching Seedlings

I have been told you are pretty safe to spray around them if you have tubes, and from reading back you have the good miracle tubes

    Deer mount costs?

My guy is $1000-1100. He's an artist with his work and I don't mind paying a little extra for it.

    Deer mount costs?

Yeah I get that part for sure. I don't mount them all anymore but do most. Space is a big one. I guess I just look back at a mount and relive the hunt for that buck. Not as easy to do with pictures IMO. Plus, as much as we spend on deer hunting anymore, what's another $1000 to the tab

    Deer mount costs?

    What other reasons?

Anyone know what plant this is?

Pretty sure my farm in KS is covered up with this too. Guess they call it buckbrush there. Doesn't get real tall like bush honesuckle so I am being told to leave it be. I guess the deer love it? That was a couple guys opinions in KS. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

    TSI chainsaw????

261 hands down for me. I own several different stihl saws and the power to weight ratio on the 261 is noticeable for sure.
