Several years ago I had the same problem and the scope turned out to be broken. I switched to a extra scope I had around just to see if the gun would group and it did. Bought a new scope and worked ever since.
It has been a bad year for me so far for big buck sightings, I have seen smaller bucks chasing but the biggest I have seen is 130-140ish bucks. I cover a large area for work and I'm not seeing the dead deer on the sides of the roads like I am use to seeing. I think the numbers are still down...
Yes, it was a nice buck. I was shed hunting with his uncle and his uncle found its left side shed, never found his right. Best buck to hunt; he was very open feeding in alfalfa field every day. I thought he would be poached. Put on around 30-40 inches from the year before.
Once established I spray/kill the grass around the edges of my plum thickets so the thicket can grow bigger faster without the grass competition. I once had lots of quail (1970's)and am trying to make it more of an inviting place.
I have a drier area that is rocky and was thinking alfalfa would grow better there than clover. I was thinking a mix of alfalfa, chicory and small burnett. Would this work or do I need to keep alfalfa out of the mix. Or could I plant trefoil in this mix? Just have trouble growing something...
I found 4 two years ago in 1/4 mile of my fence. All yearlings. Funny thing is I drive down this road alot and I think they die fairly quick as I found them all after they had been dead and partially eaten.
