Whats your take on fletching color?

I agree with Scott I.C., blood shows up easily on white fletching, which makes it easier to distinguish what type of shot you made - i.e. thin/thick/coagulated/bubbly blood or intestines... the combination of white fletching and white arrow wraps also show up great on film.

    Preferred Drop Away

One more vote for Trophy Taker... On my hunting bow I was able to set the rest slightly further back and file off the tips of the launcher just far enough so that it will not make contact with my shelf, thus no need for moleskin.

    Switchback vs outback

For not being a 'Mathews Guy' I was really impressed with how well the new Switchback shot. (My fellow Hoyt guys don't jump on my case, I like to test new equipment at the shop to better educate myself and to relay this info to my customers...) I also found the new Switchback to have very little...

    2005 Hoyt's

Chad, Shawn Ryan should be stopping by CIA soon with the '05 models. You may want to shoot the TurboTec before you buy it... Oh, who am I kidding, it'll be awesome man, no doubt in my mind. It is a Hoyt afterall. I have a V-Tec on the way - Can't wait! Also, Shawn is our Easton Rep. so if you...

    2005 Hoyt's

Finally got my 2005 Hoyt catalog! I believe you guys will really be impressed with what they've done to their lineup this year. The V-Tec looks awesome! Also, for the 'target' guys - check out the blue fusion. The alpha shox system is something I'm looking forward to - no more loosening up limb...

    Easton Axis Arrows

I have been really impressed with Easton's new ST Axis shafts. These arrows are tough as nails! 'Bowhunt America' has been advertising an add that displays an ST Axis that has been shot into a brick, and appears to be seemingly undamaged. All of us at the 'Bluffs' were somewhat skeptic of these...

Thanks for the kind words Deerstalkin, I'd be pleased to teach you a thing or two anytime.

    Arrow rest question...

Jethro, the longer bracket is available if you want an overdraw option. The short bracket is by far the most popular, and works for most applications. The micro adjustment feature makes fine tuning a piece of cake, but whether its worthy of your extra hard-earned dollar is up for you to decide...

    2004 IBA Fall Festival

I'll try and pull a few strings and see if I can make it out of here for a day or two.

    Hunting Accidents

Opening weekend of shotgun season, my cousin was clipped with a slug. He happened to be walking up a slight bank towards the road, and a slug had skipped off of the gravel road, buzzing across his chin. He was very fortunate to recieve nothing more than a superficial cut...but he is no longer...

    Hoyt quivers

CamoMan, yes Hoyt does make a quick-detach quiver. Its made by Bohning, its fairly light weight, suprisingly quiet, and it looks damn good! They normally run about $55-$60... well worth it in my opinion.

    Targets

Release Hunter, you may want to try a "Lube Tube" or just plain ol' ivory soap on your carbons, and investing in an arrow puller (Vista makes an excellent puller) would also help your arrows pull out much easier.

    Youth Bows

supertec, their is the mathews genesis pro, which will top out at 30# and has a draw stop... but I believe you can get 45# out of the banshee.

    Stupid arrow/broadhead tuning question

As far as the overall procedure, carbons will tune no differently than other shafts, whether its aluminum, carbon, wood, fiberglass, etc. Alignment of your broadheads and vanes makes no difference...EXCEPT that it makes for consistancy coming out of the bow. Archers paradox is the flexing of...

    Youth Bows

Browning makes a very nice youth bow called the Micro Midas III. The great thing about this bow is that its adjustable from 18"-28", and comes in 20-30#, or 30-40# poundages. Your looking at about $179.99... but if you really liked the kid, you'd get him a Hoyt Banshee.

    Easton Axis

I have been shooting the Axis since early spring and I really love them. The whole idea behind the shaft and its components is something totally new and innovative. I've had great penetration with these shafts which is the result of focusing the bow's energy into the ultra-small diameter, and...

    Arrow Fletching

For a hunting set-up there are several ways you can go, and a good portion of it is personal preferrence. Whether its 3"-4"-5"... vanes - feathers... helical or offset, you've got to find what works best for you. When it comes to vane length, the shorter the vane, the faster it will project from...
