I use a lens pen also. You definitely need to use some type of lens brush to remove the dust and grit that accumulates. Cabela's has them for a reasonable price.
We saw a bobcat about a month ago in Lucas county. It stopped about 25 yards away,I was suprised at it's size and how powerful it looked. Just as soon not have them critters roaming the woods...looks like they would put a hurtin' on everything in the woods.

I agree with LittleJ that you probably pulled the body off and left the head in. It wouldn't hurt to have it looked at, though I believe Lyme disease is rarely found around here.
