Changing opinions on the amount of does to shoot…

It is so sporadic in my area just south of 80. There are pockets where no hunting is allowed and deer population crazy and then the sections all around it are basically void year round. Farmers all complain there are too many but it is down a lot from 10 years ago as a whole in the county...

Roundup Ready Corn & Soybean Food Plot

Thoughts from commercial side….Dry years show many problems that are typically covered up with rain. Residue has been a huge issue this year whether from cover crop or just last years crop residue. Carbon penalty is real with residue or rye. Nutrients being tied up is huge without rain as...

Best whitetail hunting & worst - OUTSIDE OF IOWA???!?!?!!

For me if I was going out of state for whitetails I would be heading to Southern IL without a doubt. A lot of solid hunting and I have contacts down there. Yes it may be going down the wrong path but there is a lot of cover down there and plenty of big deer. That said I would say with 90%...

    DNR funded Sponsorships?

No, it was just odd to me how it was placed with the sponsers and some states have sponsored the THP fellas. Guess it would make sense the way they are promoting the increase in non res tags.

    Brillion seeder

Customer of mine has a landpride nts2511 that I borrow all the time. Great unit for its intended uses but it only has one set of packers on the back and spiked roller up front. It has 3 boxes set up just like their no till drills except for the drop seeder part which is really handy for...

Des Moines metro v Iowa City metro

Forgot to put which I’d choose. Having lived in both I would choose Iowa City for the smaller town feel compared to Des Moines metro. 20-30 minutes out I’d be hard pressed to not choose Des Moines from a hunting perspective.

Des Moines metro v Iowa City metro

Not sure why anyone would want to live in either place…..put me 20-30 minutes outside of them bare min but to each their own.

Does Iowa DNR Ever Buy Land?

I know Poweshiek county has bought parcels that adjoin public lands currently but it has not been of any quality on the small portion that is tillable. I also know they don’t really want more because they don’t have the funding or personnel to manage it like they want to.

How much are land consulting costs?

Who are your target clients and farm sizes? People like me with 50 acres who live on it, or people with 80-120, 160-300, 300+. I would assume in the medium to larger sizes……Then are you targeting those guys who just want help identifying and can do the work or people who want the full on...

    Hunting blinds?

Not that this Information is helpful in deciding but it Seems to me having 2 different brands (redneck and grizzly) that they all have issues and things I would change about them. Also been around banks and snipers quite a bit. None of them are as nice as sitting in my house or shop yet they are...
