Killed some big bucks out of blinds. If your popping it up and hunting it fresh, tuck it up against a cedar tree, and clip a few branches to break it up a bit. Otherside, trees that have fallen over or a tangle of logs is great too.
Deer seem to have a problem with blinds made out of shiny...
Yup, October lull....calm before storm. Crops coming out, cover is changing. Deer are readjusting themselves to the changing environment. Bucks are still traveling a relatively small core area, keeping tabs on a few different doe groups and their smaller areas.
Can't wait till the mature...
Sorry, paranoid mom doesn't want names or pictures on here. BUT, I am extremely proud of my 10 year old daughter....Third deer harvested and FIRST bowkill tonight. Second sit of the season. Nice fat mature doe at 15 yards. 32 pound bow is plenty....buried it up to the fletchings and poked out...
Whitetails are the most adaptive herbavore in North America. Your deer are just conditioned to look at humans as non-threatening due to constant reinforcement. Start throwing sticks at them from above and they'll catch on pretty quick.
I have hunted in a petting zoo type of area...
