Exactly I was talking to my CO about how we had some county antlerless tags left after season and we both agreed with the EHD hit we took those tags shouldn’t be available and he admitted that his hands are tied and There’s nothing he can do about it. That’s definitely an instance where his...
We had Delta Metals in Leon do ours and they set us up with a local Amish crew to build it. 2 guys had that thing framed and sided in a few days! I would use them again for sure.
I’d rather have tags go to NRLO’s who actually care about conservation and protecting the resource and less tags available for outfitters who only care about exploiting the resource for their own monetary gain.
How many of these “farm flippers” told a NR they wouldn’t sell them a farm...
I found two doing the same thing last weekend just changing batteries in cameras. I’ve noticed quite of few shed early this year more than the norm it seems anyway. No sure if it’s EHD stress that causes it.
I like the landowner tag if you own a minimum number of acres but I would even bump it up to maybe 120 and also let a nonresident landowner get at least a few doe tags they can use at their own discretion and some sort of separate lottery system so these guys can at least shoot a buck every few...
Those drone deer recovery videos are pretty cool, but that’s as far as I think they should be allowed as far as that. I am super curious about using them too spray my food plots and seed cover crops or to deliver me a pizza after I’ve already eaten all my snacks before noon on and all day sit! Lol
Yeah, I’ve been watching the real. Time quota and thank goodness some people are actually using better judgment this year because they’ve only sold three tags in the last few weeks.
So I noticed my county has a few hundred leftover doe tags which is definitely a great reflection on the herd size this year after over harvesting and EHD. Are only the tags purchased tomorrow or whenever they go on sale for the extra season valid? I’m just curious so I can keep an eye on how...
Usually you can draw shotgun and muzzleloader any sex tags with 1 preference point but I’m guessing now that the nonresident doe tag loophole has been closed the amount of hunters applying for those seasons are gonna get more pressure as well. Time will tell. I know our group is going to start...
I’ve had great luck with Chief River nursery in Wisconsin. Get the red cedar plugs so much easier than trying to dibble bar those long arse roots in. lol
I know what you mean about trying to keep these deer alive and they’re too dumb to not cross the fence and meet their demise but it is what it is as long as it’s done legally. I have noticed that some of my 10 to 12 year-old white spruce have started turning yellow and dying. I don’t know if...
I have planted everything and the only time they mess with Cedars is if it’s a real bad winter, they’ll nip the tops of them, but after that, they do fine as long as you keep them from getting out of control. Pines grow quick, but you have to cage them and they’ll still eat every limb they can...
Are any bills gonna be introduced on the offensive side of things or is it gonna be another year of playing defense this year? I know one of the sportsman’s groups was taking a survey earlier in the year.
I still remember the pain I was in the night I shot one when it was super cold. Back before heated insulated blinds. I couldn’t even reload my muzzleloader because as soon as I took my hand out of my glove, I lost all dexterity. The next deer I shoot in that type of weather better be the next...
You don’t have any issues, setting them up in the timber and wires getting chewed? Do You use the extra battery pack as well? I could see that working well in open fields or food plots where you’ll never move the camera. Maybe I’ll pick a few of them up to try.
