Crops are done in SE Iowa, what we have today, is all we will get. Week+ of 95 degrees and will be in the drying stage. Many late planted beans have few pods and not even full canopy.

If you are planning fall plots, might want to wait and see if this weather pattern holds on into fall with no rain in eastern Iowa. Fall growing season might be really short after germination when rains finally show up.

Pretty much the opposite. Us and several neighbors have managed several square miles (1700 acres) with a goal of 25-30 deer per square mile. We were ready for all the late seasons to go away. Bring in EHD, and lost most everything. Entire crop of 2-4 year old bucks gone from EHD and hunting, and...

I need to clarify, the woods are quiet, very little sign. Most bucks, and does were wiped out. Going to be slow for several years, if hunting is reduced.

You must not be near my area, bird numbers are way down, probably down 75% from 5-10 years ago. Poor reproduction, egg eaters, and bobcats are taking most.

Spot on here with the neighbor issue. 1- guys that control a lot of land, 500+ acres, are seeing older deer....or are lucky to have good neighbors with big land control. or my situation 2- the opposite has happened, every 5-80 acres has a hard core bowhunter, or two. The seasons start in...
