Sooo rifles may be coming to Iowa. We'll at least the IBA has been working hard to prevent the real threats like blood trailing dogs and landowner tags good for additional seasons. Lol.
The financial hit? From a $2 landowner tag?
I doubt the financial impact would be significant. At any rate the IBA opposes many other legislation that would be fund raisers. Yet somehow we're to believe funding is a deciding issue with the IBA?
Not buying it.
Wow, this is a shock. I was clicking on here to see if there were any updates on his improvement.
I know he was in critical condition but with reports that he was responsive I really assumed he was not in danger of dying.
I hope that his family has a good support system and that he had...
Yes. I agree.
And I will also add that as a landowner myself for the past 6 years or so I have filled my archery landowner tag a grand total of one time.
When I hunt my own property I feel much more invested and I have a much higher standard for what I put that tag on. I have passed several...
I guess I didn’t realize our conversation was not civil.
I applaud that you are saving for your own land and I hope that one day you do own your own land and understand the expense involved and realize that land ownership isn't about entitlement.
But, saving money isn't the same thing as...
You're resorting to false arguments.
Hunt whenever they see fit? NO. Hunt during legal seasons and follow all rules within those seasons.
Kill as many deer as they see fit? Again NO, kill only the deer they have a legal landowner tag for which is one deer. My understanding is that landowners...
I saw on another forum that his wife posted somewhere yesterday that he has had two surgeries and is still in critical condition.
My guess is with this kind of swelling it will take several days if not weeks for the swelling to go down and that he will hopefully show signs of improvement as...
Thanks. I planted several spruce trees as well with little to no success. The cedars do seem to be doing well now that they are getting established. I'm planting them in rows to hopefully provide some screening some day.
That is a great video. I need to see if the neighbors will let me dig up and transplant some cedars.
I bought a bunch of cedars from the dnr a few years ago. Not much more than twigs at the time. Took three years to get to the size of the ones he's digging up in the video. I think transplanted...
When I grew up I didn't hunt youth season. I didn't hunt deer at all. I didn’t have any role models that got me into hunting or mentored me. I just had this desire to be outdoors and to become a hunter. I did odd jobs and earned money and convinced my parents on my 14th birthday to take me to...
That's another common sense situation where people who were not affected by a law obviously got mad or jealous and lobbied to keep youth out of "their" archery season. As I stated about that law, it doesn't affect me at all but I'm not going to go lobby to keep kids out of archery season because...
"Poor people like you" obviously don't understand the work involved in owning land and managing habitat for deer.
But then you obviously aren't a "land steward" now are you?
You think since you haven't prioritized and worked hard to afford to purchase land of your own then everyone must be as...
Keep in mind that party hunting allows hunters to continue hunting even after their tag is filled. If a group of 20 fills 19 tags the whole group can still continue hunting as long as there is an unfilled tag in the grouo.
If you eliminate party hunting it will no longer be legal to be in the...
