    2 for 1

The buck was still intact last night around 6. Went by this morning and they were hacked off. Was in company rig, otherwise I would have grabbed them.

    2 for 1

To anyone interested in a good set of rattling antlers, there is a solid 150 ten pt in the median of 380/218 right at the shueyville exit. Also, spotted a big buck bedded off of nw north liberty exit. Must have a doe, he's wiiiide.

I'll second what Liv said. Lock down. No mature bucks seen, without a doe. Seen them bedded in road ditches and the like. Been stalking off the ground for several years now, this fall I'm going to hold off and wait for them to start cruising again.

    Blaster is Pissed Off!!!

My brother built a steel box that slides together in two pieces. The first piece is lagged into the tree/post in two places. Camera is placed, then the second piece is secured with a big lock, which is placed in a way that no bolt cutter can access it. He's had in for several years, if someone...

    DeerZilla

How did this post get brought up? I posted this back in 2004. I want to say it was Travis Smiley from Imogene who shot the big non-typical; something like 270"; had 3 main beams. Should be pictures somewhere online. Again, not sure how this old post got brought back up.

    Muzzy Buck

WOW! Congrats on a great buck! The second picture says it all with the hunter's grin! Awesome!

    Bud is back, and a few others as well;

Nice bucks! I think you need to rename your buck "Big Bud", like the tractor from the 70's/80's. Stud!

    Nice Buck on KCCI

If anyone is interested, there are some photos of a nice nontypical on KCCI Local Wildlife Slideshow. Anyone know this Kimberly? Better yet, anyone know this buck?

Photos of the winners of the classic?

Did anyone get a picture of the buck that was basically just main beams? I believe it was from Guthrie county, about 24" inside and 5" mass. It was on the furthest west panel. Awesome buck!

    southern iowa giant

Does anyone know, is this the same Randy Andreini who shot a 174" ten pt about 10 years ago?

    WHO is running the DNR????

Related to Earthscrather's post. I just saw a job posting for a CO on the IDNR website. No degree required; just a high school diploma. A degree in natural resources or biology should be a requirement IMO.

NA Whitetail and the magazine business

What "other" thread are you talking about? I would like to hear more about this topic. I'm a long time NAW reader/subscriber and have been concerned with content the last couple of years; the current issue is no exception IMO.

    bow only public land

Isn't the Sedan Bottoms slated to be underwater? I believe the dam building is a little behind (like a year). Never been down there, but always wanted to give it a try. If I ever won the lottery, I would buy a huge chunk of ground. I would hunt the inside perimeter and let...

Corn and beans in same food plot?

Maybe instead of mixing the seed, plant two rows to corn and the other two rows to beans. I hate hounding on this subject, but it really has piqued my interest. I work with corn and soybean research on a daily basis and have the mindset of a traditional producer(yield focused), so mixing beans...

Corn and beans in same food plot?

dbltree, I agree that trying new things is fun. It is just my opinion that this really has more negatives than positives. There always has to be a nay sayer. If you have limited acres, I wouldn't take the chance of having a crop failure; by increasing the stress on the corn plants from the...

Corn and beans in same food plot?

I'm not sure why anyone would even bother with this. If you have had great luck planting individually, why change your operation? Plain and simply the soybean plants are going to act as weeds, sucking water (most limiting factor in crop production)and N from the soil. Soybeans are luxary...

    Special Season Reality......

I've got another solution. Why not let hunters fill any unfilled tag from any year? I have a mug full of all my unfilled tags at home. Plenty of late season tags.
