The buck was still intact last night around 6. Went by this morning and they were hacked off. Was in company rig, otherwise I would have grabbed them.

To anyone interested in a good set of rattling antlers, there is a solid 150 ten pt in the median of 380/218 right at the shueyville exit. Also, spotted a big buck bedded off of nw north liberty exit. Must have a doe, he's wiiiide.

I'll second what Liv said. Lock down. No mature bucks seen, without a doe. Seen them bedded in road ditches and the like. Been stalking off the ground for several years now, this fall I'm going to hold off and wait for them to start cruising again.

How did this post get brought up? I posted this back in 2004. I want to say it was Travis Smiley from Imogene who shot the big non-typical; something like 270"; had 3 main beams. Should be pictures somewhere online. Again, not sure how this old post got brought back up.

Did anyone get a picture of the buck that was basically just main beams? I believe it was from Guthrie county, about 24" inside and 5" mass. It was on the furthest west panel. Awesome buck!

I'm not sure why anyone would even bother with this. If you have had great luck planting individually, why change your operation? Plain and simply the soybean plants are going to act as weeds, sucking water (most limiting factor in crop production)and N from the soil. Soybeans are luxary...

I've got another solution. Why not let hunters fill any unfilled tag from any year? I have a mug full of all my unfilled tags at home. Plenty of late season tags.
