The CVA QRBPs use ~ 7/64” for the fire channel and ~ #71/0.7mm (0.027in/0.69mm) wire gauge for the flash hole. Measurements taken from CVA’s QRBP cleaning kit.

Looks like that blade is Aus-8, which isn’t a super hard steel, and, from what I’ve seen, is supposed to be fairly rugged. That’s some pretty substantial chipping - I’d contact Cold Steel to see what they have to say.

The AR500 targets I have (Amazon) barely pit (maybe 1/32”) with a 270 Win at 100 yds. I’ve got a few round targets from 4-12”, but could use a Silhouette or two. Been wanting to replace the plate of mystery metal I have at the fence line with a big AR500. Thanks!!!

What bullet are you shooting? Your Marlin has a 1/38 twist, so you might try a lighter bullet. Some rifles have 1/20 twist (same as 44 mag handguns) to stabilize heavier bullets. I’ve heard that the Marlin doesn’t like much more than 240 grain.
