I agree with dropping the powder to 100 gr...my Encore hate 150 gr powder loads, but is ridiculously accurate out to 230 yards with 100 gr pushing 245 gr power belts
I don't know how far Iowa City is from Des Moines, The Rack Shack, Steve Olsen is the owner and he does some of the finest work I have ever seen.

I have the same problem with my Encore using Pyrodex pellets and Hornady sabots/slugs
I kinda figures it was fouling form the sabot melting to the inside of the barrel.
I really like InnerLoc broad heads. I have used their Carbon Tuner 3 blade (tough as nails) and the 3 blade expandables...again super tough.
The fixed blade heads have something they call B.A.T the ferrule of the head can be turned to tune the heads to your arrow verses turning your insert...
In my area I would say less than .01% chance, There will probably be a 160 class deer killed around here this year but I doubt there will be more than 1 or 2 killed in the surrounding 5 or 6 counties around me.
If you look up www.trilitestone.com there are plenty of examples of some great looking lick and stick stone. They are a good company out of Minnesota. I will see if I can get out and get some pictures of past projects with their stone on it
Season was short and sweet this year. I shot this guy yesterday afternoon here in northern Michigan. 17 yards with my new Strother SX-1...it was nice to shoot something with it beside the target:way:
I shoot the Carbon Impact Hunter XLT shafts with Blazer vanes. I was shooting Easton Axis Epic, but I had problems with getting them to fly consistent even though spined correctly. Just decided to make the switch..very happy I did. Love the Carbon Impact!
I have no problem sitting all day this time of year, I imagine it helps that I work outside all day but to stay warm on stand I wear a ood pair of Lacross boots, wind proof micro fleece from Predator and wool gloves. Seems to work for me here in Northern Michigan
