I agree that wolves have been in the Northern Lower Peninsula for awhile now. 2 years ago, a guy had a wolf in his traps on several occasions over in the Kalkaska area. I hope they do open a season for them...it would be a lottery I am sure but I would be putting in for a tag!

There are a lot of variables....are you planning on doing a log style cabin or are you planning on conventional framing. Either way do not use any hardwood for the construction of it, if you want to mill some maple for your floors or something that would be fine, but try to stick with the spruce...

I have eaten tags before and would definately eat another one. Especially if I just dropped 500+ dollars on it. I always try to shoot a doe when I am hunting out of state though

We have looked in the Waukon and Decorah areas, going to make another trip out in a month or so to show the wife a few more towns. I really fell in love with the Waukon area myself. I appreciate all of the responses from you all. It definately helps to narrow down the search

Thank you for the replys, I am a licensed builder in Michigan, large scale custom homes has been my bread and butter. Honestly, I am open to most work, more so outdoor work than others.
