Ive been at the wrong place at the wrong time so far this year. As for as hunting the rest of the week, are the mornings with the effort at this point? All day sits? I’m usually tagged out at this point but no such luck this year!
I heard a podcast from Joe Rogan interviewing Dan Flores and another with Steve Rinella saying the same that has been said here. They are resilient critters. The more you kill the more they reproduce.
i haven’t been been muzzy hunting and I think it’s time I dove in. What would you say are the top 3 guns out there? CVA, Traditions? What should I stear clear from?
Still searching......after reading up more on this kind of shot and replaying the moments after I really think the entry was below spine and exit was top of lung. After watching him stand there, I was looking at his exit side. It was certainly under the spine. Not sure if that would have...
Embarrassed to say i didn’t find him today. Searched from 8-5 non stop. He laid down after I shot him and had 2 large pools of blood in his bed. I tracked him this morning for maybe 600 yards and lost blood. Had a good trail, some big spots and some chunks. Try again tomorrow.
Well it was a good day. Had a shooter come by at 9:00 going 100 miles an hour with no shot. Moved stands for the afternoon and had a good 40 yard shot on a nice one at 4:50 chasing 4 does. I dropped him with the initial shot and then he took off another 20 yards and stood there gushing blood...
Can hunt all day either Wednesday or Thursday. Wednesday is supposed to have winds up to 20 and Thursday winds at about 5mph. My dilemma is Wednesday wind direction let’s me hunt a bit more desirable stand. Are 20 mph winds going to kill movement enough to wait until Thursday?
Question on hang ons.....do you have to climb down to grab another section of sticks to attach them? Pull and hang your stand and then climb back down to grab your gear?
I️ have the summit viper and it is a great climber, super light and comfy.
That said I️ wish I️ would have gotten a mobile hang on set. There have been lots of instances where I️ can not get a stand up because the trees branch out too much or they are too big in diameter. It really limits...
I️ haven’t had any issues the past few years either. I️ wear clean rubber boots and wipe Deer Herd on them. Deer constantly cut my track and never flinch.
Yesterday I saw lots of movement from a lot of dinks just passing thru. Haven’t seen any chasing yet at all. The weather kinda sucked yesterday with being overcast and very little wind.
