I'm glad this question made sense! From what I can gather on a north wind generally the deer will be on the upwind side of the river facing downwind looking for danger and using its nose to detect danger from upwind. But, like it was said, this is hardly 100% hardfast rule.
My question where bucks will bed on a river system. I believe I read they will likely bed on the inside bend of a river. If this is true which direction will they be facing and using what kind of wind? Say they are on south side of river. Will they be there on a south wind and facing to...
Anyone have any of this stuff? I am looking at getting some new pants and jacket and am considering this product but it is fairly new and don't know anyone with first hand experience.
I have been thinking this as well. If I could get a small boat I could float right down the small river and into my stand. I just don't know how hard it would be to navigate in the dark, if I could store it under the bridge and how hard it would be to paddle back up River.
I buried my skull in the ground for 2-3 months. When I pulled it out it was clean as a whistle. Just cover antlers so they don't get bleached or chewed on.
Thanks for the response. I have a feeling I know the correct answer but trying to talk myself into the ramps. Reason being price and space saved. What I usually end up doing is going cheap and then spending the money on the correct thing months later.
Looking at getting either some ramps or a small trailer for my atv and riding mower. I know the trailer would work best but it also costs a lot more and takes up more space being that I live in town. People that just have the nice ramps, are you happy with them?
Random question.....do mature bucks use the same exact bed time after time as long as the wind is right? Im not talking same area, I mean same spot on the ground. I am thinking it varies from deer to deer but in general they do. Thoughts?
