Blackberries as a part of your management plan?

Re: Blackberries as a part of your management plan Could blackberries be planted in a river bottom that floods occassionally. Do they tolerate occassional flooding? I'd like to try them along the edges of timber but do not want to waste time and money in the process.

    The end of the trail.

Here is a what it looked like if you had been there. This is a Harris hawk chasing a bunny. This bunny got away but this hawk, named Clarise, has taken over 100 rabbits this year. I have a friend who flys hawks several times a week. A Harris hawk is about the same size as a redtail.

Non Res Landowner Permits, may be on the Table:

Re: Non Res Landowner Permits, may be on the Table If you add more NR tags, more land will end up leased or otherwise tied up by either outfitters or locals looking to make a few extra bucks. Basically, the amount of land leased is directly proportional to number of NR tags available. If...

    Switchgrass question

I planted CIR this fall and can't wait to see how it does. I have a bag of Nebraska 28 left and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it in SE Iowa? Is it worth putting in the dirt or not? I think it is a shorter version than CIR.

    NWSG ?'s / Suggestions Welcome

I had an area about 15 acres that had a lot of thistle and reeds canary. I mowed in august, sprayed in sept, and planted in november. I planted 1 acre of clover, 5 acres of NWSG, and then put the balance in CIR. This will allow feeding, nesting, bedding, and winter cover. The whole field is...

    Sorghum

I plant sorghum every year for the pheasants. I've seen the deer and turkeys use it during the winter every year. Not a big draw during hunting season. With all the activity I'm getting in my clover fields, I'd recommend that for deer for hunting season and do the sorghum for winter emergency...
