    Courgar question.

There aren't any cougars in Iowa...just ask the Iowa DNR...oh wait, what was that 75lb. housecat they shot 15 miles from my house in Iowa county last year during deer season?!?!!? That sounded really mean, and I don't want to be another jerk during this election time of year (I'm getting too...

How many beers you think the little guy had in him?!?! Someone sent me a clip of these elephants getting drunk in Africa...my guess is...he could regret this in the morning!!!!

Big Iowa Buck down for Drury Outdoors/David Lindsey

ps...It's also my way of agreeing that most of us (yesss I am guilty at times), wishes we could write on our 10-40 tax form: Occupation: bow hunter (that means we have to keep our "jealousy factor" in check!) Let's just keep finding civil ways of working together!!!!

Big Iowa Buck down for Drury Outdoors/David Lindsey

Hey...I thought I would just throw some fodder on this fire...since we're all in this together. I'll admit right up front that I'm just playing "devil's advocate" on this topic. The truth is...if you're on here, and you live in Iowa...you enjoy hunting Iowa's big bucks. I moved here over 20...

    re southern iowa giant...

Hoytman, I would like to take the time to thank you for your civil response to the newest non-civil issue in Iowa, and probablly anywhere else where our selfishness gets in the way. I moved to Iowa over 20 yrs. ago and met some of the nicest people on the earth. They were old-time farmers who...

    Deflected Arrow Ham Hit

The good news is...he's either dead...or he's got a very sore buttocks. The very first deer I shot (over 25 years ago now) had this exact hit. It went in the woods and worked the arrow out by rubbing on a tree, and was dead in less than 10 yards. I also had a friend who shot a big buck and...

    the latest?!

Hey...thanks for all the input...it's always good to hear what's going on. I also know that it is veryyyyy local. I saw a ton (15 different bucks Monday morning alone), and then called my neighbor who hunts less than 3/4 mile on the same river bottom, and he saw a total of one deer Monday, and...

    the latest?!

Hey...I was just wondering what everyone was seeing right now. I had three mornings where it was just wild. Then yesterday there were a few deer moving. I still have lots of does with their fawns, so I know it is mostly just beginning around here. With the temps warming up during the day...

    No sleep tonight

Iowa, Kansas, or Oz...it's still the stinkiest part of bowhunting...I did it this year already, and told my son when I came in "this is the part of bowhunting I like the least!" Hang in there!!!

Trying to get any sympathy on here is like trying to get sympathy from your wife because "that new tree stand isn't very comfy"!!!!

    Super wide 6 pt.

Look at the time...11:50...those big boys are smart! Thank the good Lord they fall in love once a year and lose some of their brains!!!

    Score?

I'm with the 160's group also...the amazing thing though is he still has no sway in his back. If you're hunting an area where he'll make it another year...he's of the class that would be over the top next year. The problem is...he would probablly be in the dirt in most situations!

    Need Advice from you fanatics!

It was the strangest search I've ever made. My son (who was late for school, and was going to tell the teacher he was discecting) and I went out this morning. We picked up where we left off. There was about 40 yrds where my son said "it looks like he's pouring it out of a cup". Then he goes...

    Need Advice from you fanatics!

Thanks for the advice so far...I have definately backed out, and am waiting until morning...I've been on too many of those late night searches. There was really good blood on the arrow...the problem was that I could see the opposite side and there was no hole, so I know it went out low on the...

    Need Advice from you fanatics!

Here's the long story...short...had an olddd cull buck come by at 4:00...there was no way he was going to take the course he did...less than 5 yrds from the stand...he did...and he walked becauce he was so close then went straight away. Five minutes later, the same thing except this time the...

    Wounded Buck, I'm Nervous

I found one that I had liver shot...but it's not the best method. I knew the area he had headed...and there were a ton of blow downs. I had shot him at this time of year. I waited 3 weeks until one of those rare hot days with a wind that picks up every stinking thing. Sure enough...my nose...

    watch the wood smoke

There is a post on here right now addressing scent eliminators, and another one on wind direction. One of the thing that I think has been interesting to observe is to watch wood smoke from the stove of my neighbors, and ours included the past few years. There are times when the smoke rises and...
