Help Sighting in new Smokeless Muzzy!

If it is a 209 primer set up, you will need a wad under the bullet in cold weather for a better seal, H 4198 is better for cold weather also, but IMR will work. 65 gr of powder with the 270 E MAX should put you around 2650 FPS, sight in at 100 yards.

    Cva Scout V2

Scout is an accurate little gun, put a box of shells thru it, then had it switched over to a Smokeless muzzy, nice carrying gun in the hills and for a tree stand.

    Smokeless Muzzleloader, cva hunter

With the Hunter and Scout, using the 209 primer set up with 60 gr of IMR 4198 will be about 2350 fps with a 275 gr bullet, that is what I get out of my Scout, and a friend does also. A solid 300 yard guns, and VERY cheap and accurate set up for just getting your feet into Smokeless shooting.

    209 primers

Depends on what powder that you want to use in your muzzleloader. If you are using BH 209 out of your muzzleloader, or shooting a Smokeless muzzleloader,. you want to use a hotter 209 primer. Federal 209a is the hottest and used the most. CCI M, and a lot of people like the regular CCI 209...

    Non resident gun?

If the applications are more for a certain zone, than what the Quota is, then they will do a drawing. Other wise you will receive a tag for that zone and season that you applied for.

    Muzzleloading - Pellets to powder

Using Winchester primers, every now and then you will have a miss fire, Federals and CCI, and CCI mag primers, less miss fires. If you are getting blow back from around the primers, they sell a metric O ring that goes into the primer pocket, that will seal it up from doing it, they are good for...

    New bullet and load

Your rest that you used when getting ready to shot at the doe, was the forearm on it or was the barrel. IF the barrel, that was the reason for a high hit on her, I have seen it happen before like that.

Knight disc extreme long range hunter?

Yes you may need a sizing die and press, then you will be able to try any bullet in 451 or 452 size. The new Scouts come with a muzzle brake on them, shooting a sabotless load would be the best.

    SMOKELESS MUZZLELOADER

Real good price on it, and a really nice set up. My bolt gun is about the same set up. Have a 416 SML set up on a Remington CF action, and really enjoy shooting it.

Knight disc extreme long range hunter?

To have the Scout converted to Smokeless, the gun was $350, and the conversion was $250, this was for everything, as far as accuracy, shooting off a bag under an inch 4 shots at 100 yards. shooting 60 gr of 4198 with a Parker 275 gr BE bullet, speed was 2540 FPS avg, 200 yards was 2 inches, But...

Knight disc extreme long range hunter?

If you can find a CVA Apex in 45/70 better pick it up, as of the first of the year they stopped making them, Carlos at Ed's gun shop found a few and they were gone with in 3 days, even just the barrels are gone also. They have the CVA Scout in 45/70 and yes Luke at Arrowhead can do the change...
