I have not. My mind is conditioned at this point every time I see a buck to judge him for age and score. I'd guess the most common mistake occurs on deer from 110-120 inches. Most guys who are not trophy hunters tend to add about 10-15 inches to these deer. The buck fever syndrome. It takes...
Sligh
I shot the same FMJ's with muzzys and had almost identical speed as you. I'd estimate I shot 20 deer with those arrows. The only one I didn't pass thru was a spine shot buck. I did pass through his off shoulder on the follow up. I also passed through shoulders of two other bucks that...
Indiana recently passed a law allowing for the prosecution of trespassing on farm property by either a owner or person who leases the property. I got to put this new toy to use tonight. My wonderful neighbor didn't heed my warnings about not snowmobiling on our place or leases. He even ran...
True but if t weren't for antlers the money wouldn't be there either to conserve ground and the species....iIs a double edged sword. For example it will bite me one day around my place. He had to lease to eliminate hunting pressure around us. Two of my leases eliminated 8 additional hunters on...
He wasn't worried about getting his picture taken or the camera would be gone. I can't believe no one around you knows him. What in the heck would he be doing far from home?
Part of the issue is that people stop calling from not getting help. Half the battle is blowing up the phone lines across the board to make sure law enforcement truly "feels" the issue. You can't throw your hands up and do nothing because you assume no response will happen. At some point...
Interesting. I don't think the print is big enough unless it's a juvenile cat. Definitely looks like a retractable claw animal. What does a bobcat print look like?
3 to 4 should average 10-15% and 4-5 5-10%.
The biggest jump from 3 to 4 I've seen was 125ish to 166. Year was 2010-2011.
The worst I've seen was a decline from 145ish to 138. The year was 2012 to 2013.
150, you bring up a good point about local efforts being the grassroots. I would say that the DNR has taken a more active approach by talking openly with Drurys and marketing your deer.
I used to wish my state was more like Iowa until I joined this site and saw the other side of some laws...
Maybe the reason those mentioned people have the best hunting in the state is because they manage their property wisely unlike what your DNR is proposing.
The only two things the DNR has managed to do right is keep guns out of the rut and limit NR tags. Everything else is a freaking disaster...
I put in a plot down very close to a bedding area about 500-600 yards off the main field. We experienced outstanding movement all season long on this plot. It was a stand you needed to be in at least 3 hours before dark not matter what point in the season. It was hunted about 8-12 times and...
I have 7 bushnells and no issues with false triggers from foliage. It's usually a squirrel or bird tripping the camera IMO. I'd send it back. My worst offenders for false triggers are Mountie A5's. I have 3 and they are the biggest POS camera I've ever used. Terrible trigger speed and far...
I think reception is doable. I'm certain a camera should be able to communicate with another one inside of one mile without it costing 800 bucks per camera. Worst case why couldn't you set repeater antenna's strategically on your property to enhance transmission.
