Should work, you may not be able to draw the herd buck away from the other does, but one of the satellite bucks should come over and take a closer look. If you can set up near a water source it will be ever better. Good luck. Wish I was headed back to Cody this fall.
I have the Bushnell DOA on my TC Omega and like it alot, but have not taken any long shots with it at a deer, so that part of it is untested. All my deer have been within a 100 yds.
There my problem on about 14 acres of CRP, here's the plan I concocted. Burn early May (before the 15th) which ever trees are still showing any green treat with brush killer (I still have some 245-T) then burn again the following year 2013. Will it work or do I need a new plan??

As Cooter mentioned I swab between shots to more closely duplicate the shot. If you have problems shooting a good group then its time to play with bullets or powder, not at the same time. If you get it done in 3 or 4 shots you are lucky.

Have hunted northern Wis. and like has been said it's a lot different, we hunted large tracts of timber, and while there are some good bucks keep in mind they are pine cone fed not corn fed.
Was out there a couple of years ago, and my wife wouldn't let me go to the other floors. I needed an extra day or two. Besides the guns there are some great B&C mounts and art work. A must stop on your way to Yellowstone.
