Maybe I am the only one?

Calling the sheriff in my county over roaming dogs doesn't even warrant a return call. Just a short chat with dispatch!

Simply incredible!! Maybe we should rename this site Washington Whitetail! It even sounds better.

    Mt. lion?

Bobcat tracks aren't anywhere near that size. Also the stride looks much longer.

How does this thread go on for 10 pages? Obviously I am missing something here!

    Military... considering retiring in IA

Nope!! Not without having access to extremely good private land. Maybe the public land has gotten much better in the last 10 yrs. or so, but when I hunted public land in the north east portion of the state you would be lucky to ever see a true 160". That included driving public land during...

    Republican Response

Let's see. Who can we find to carry us out of this terrible economy. Another Bush? Maybe we can find another Ronald Reagon! Look what he did for our country! I've got to go with either Donald Trump or Mike Huckelbee!

    LOT tags

All hunting and fishing regulations are the same as imposed by the state. Seasons, limits, etc. are enforced the same. Example is daily limit of 25 bluegill on inland lakes, but no limit on private water. The only exception is the landowner is not required to purchase a license for his own land...

    LOT tags

If mister landowner is denied hunting privileges without having to purchase all licenses required of non landowners; why would he or she allow access to his land to other hunters? The last time I hunted public land it was too crowded!

Cross Bows in Iowa....? I hope not

I'm not crazy about allowing crossbows into the archery season, and don't use one myself. I do however like the idea of compound bow companies competing in price with the crossbows. I for one started bowhunting many years ago before compound bows. I enjoyed great success with traditional...

Cross Bows in Iowa....? I hope not

While I agree the nr landowners loophole for shotgun should be changed; there never was cross tagging as you call it during any muzzleloader season. It's a primitive weapon season, and the regulations are the same as bow hunting. Actually the primitive weapon restrictions might be a good...

Cross Bows in Iowa....? I hope not

It would seem the term (idiot) is handed out quite frequently on this forum. I simply would like to show those who are judgmental using the term (idiots) are far from knowing the correct way to hunt deer in Iowa. It would also seem some don't even know the regulations in Iowa to hunt deer!

Cross Bows in Iowa....? I hope not

I think you are the one riding that horse! I've killed most of my deer doing drives with a recurve bow. Instinctive shooting. Too many people quick to judge about something they know little about.

Cross Bows in Iowa....? I hope not

It isn't nearly as hard as you may think! It does involve skill, practice, and intimate knowledge of the land you are hunting. Wait isn't that what bowhunting is?

Cross Bows in Iowa....? I hope not

I'm not sure what you are trying to say? It is completely legal to hunt deer using drives with a bow. I know many people who have been doing it for many years. The only difference from shotgun is you must tag the deer you kill, and you can no longer hunt after filling your tag. The same...

Group of shot gunners busted for trespassing.

Well said. I for one see no reason to hunt out of state to kill a doe.
