    "The Tank"--and a size perspective.

To put the size of this deer into perspective. The first picture shows a 4 1/2 year old 9 point pushing a 1 1/2 year old 6 point. Second picture shows the same 1 1/2 year old 6 point standing with "The Tank". Obviously in a different league as the 4 1/2 year old. Now heres the funny part. Last...

    Darn Moultrie..buck funnel

That deer certainly did see (or hear) the camera, but doesn;t seem to mind it. I'm not real sure about them IR camera's. I like the color pics and havnt had a problem with the flash spooking a buck yet. It seems that in all the pictures I look at, deer are just as apt to be looking at an IR...

    Pups First Pheasant

Finally! And I do mean Finally. I must live in the worst Pheasant area in the States, NW Minnesota and public land non the less. After 6 hard trips to the field, my pup Elsie (13 mo. old) was finally rewarded for all of her hard work. I took a long, long, shot and dropped the bird, but I knew it...

    The Oct. 25th 900 Club

I'm not meaning to make this sound like a brag post. But in the last 8 seasons I've taken 6 bucks with over 900 inches of antler on October 25th alone. My point is this....tomorrow will be an excellent day to spend hunting Whitetails, and all day if you can. I checked my records and 5 of those 6...

    Can You Imagine?

I read about this awhile back written from a first person account. There's quit abit more to the story then whats posted here. There were also a half dozen very good photos along with the guys account. To have both of them walk away with relative minor injuries is unbelievable.

    Little Red Rooster

Subject: Little Red Rooster. John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called "pullets," and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This was time consuming, so he...

    Phew

And they classify it as a "hunting" accident? Someone should clarify that for them. I dont want what I do to be lumped into the same group as a poacher.

    Heater Body Suit Question???

I prefer the "Cacoon" over the body suit. Much easier to get into, much, much lighter, and it doesnt let all of your body heat escape when you need to shoot. They make them now with Gortex for a wind break. I love mine and know a bunch of people that have one and swear by them.

    Camp Ripley Archery Buck

A Wis hunter by the name of Mike Langin has the Ripley record at 219 inches. I'll bet this deer makes a good run at that number.

Have to Brag on my Dog

Fatboy. The old timer you're refering to is Chris's mentor. I cant remember his name (Darrel Keenan?) but he bred strait Moesgaard GSP's because of thier drive and temperment. Just about one third of the Hall of Fame GSP's, and a bunch of the top winning Field Champion lines go back to the...

Have to Brag on my Dog

Last Thanksgiving I picked up a female GSP pup from 6R's Upland Kennels in Grinnell, Iowa. Chris produces some pretty darned good dogs and my pup "Elsie" is another reason for him to brag on his own line breeding. I currently have Elsie down at Chris's for some formal training before bringing...
