Pharmer, is your land worth MORE or LESS without the rights? If YOU cannot hunt YOUR land next year, wouldnt you agree that it is worth less money? If NO ONE can hunt your land next year, would it then be worth less money? Yes, yes, yes.....Every right you give up on property, devalues that...

Non-Resident Antlerless Tags and Land Access

Yeah, do everything you can to keep the NR out of Iowa. We are dangerous. We have ruined Kansas, Ohio, Wisconsin, and others that allow NR landowners to hunt every year. I could go on and on.

Thanks onecam. We must all work together, even though we dont agree on all issues. The core values and goals are the same. There must be a hundred anti hunting sites on the internet. If we need to vent there are plenty of places to do it in a constructive manner. Good hunting.

Well, I asked for it and I got it. Thanks for all the dialogue....seriously. I really am interested in your opinions and I thought I would throw out a solution that I saw as a win / win scenario. You will have to go back and examine the original post to be back on topic now, as we have run...

Guys, I see your point about it being about money, and I am afraid it already is. Your legislature is seeing to it. The proposal that probably will pass out of this years session will not add any tags, but will raise my license and tag fee to over $400 if I read it correctly. Here is a typical...

    Question's for Blind Sow

Excellent, excellent question moosehunter....kind of like cutting your leg half off and waiting two years to go to the doctor. Even if you get it fixed, you lost a lot of blood because you didnt move quickly.

I am rich, and you are too if you have a wife and family and friends that love you. The money is irrelevant. I hope you can own land someday. I wish all Iowa hunters would buy every piece that comes up for sale and there was none left for a NR. Seriously, I can think of nothing better than a...

All good points.....I know the concensus is to leave things as they are. Trper,I respect the idea of fighting for what you have. I fight for my rights too. I bought another farm last week. I will continue to buy land in Iowa, whether I get to hunt it or not. I like it there. If history teaches...

    Something that really bugs me

This is the dumbest thing Iowa has ever done in the name of "good management". What a disaster. Early season would be better, or make the late season bow only.

Let me throw this one out….and watch the bullets fly from both sides. Guys, no death threats please….. I keep hearing the groaning about increasing numbers of NR hunters. NR landowners are incensed about not getting a buck tag to hunt their land. The DNR says they don’t have any money...

Landowner property line question? Off topic

Bighole is correct, the title line could only be determined in court if contested by a neighbor. The criteria for adverse posession in N.C. is 7 years with color of title, and 20 years without. Adverse posession requires that the posessor be "open, hostile, notorious, and continuous" in posession...

    Land Value

This topic is very important. I can speak on this with some authority, for you see, I cannot afford land where I live now. I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina. 30 years ago, we were mostly a rural farming community. We are geographically half way between New York and Florida. Folks...

Each region has a "private lands biologist". I have worked with the one in SE Iowa and he is quite helpful and knowledgable. He will make recommendations, and assist witht the paperwork.
