Thanks for the pictures. Any idea how deep and the diameter of the milled out area is on the BH209 BP?

    BH 209 issue

I guess I will try to find some other sabots to try out this Spring and Summer. The Crushers do not fall in, but are pretty easy to push down.

    Spacing on cedar screening?

c'mon... Those are awesome to watch torch. There s a reason they are called prairie candles.

    BH 209 issue

I looked on Traditions website and found nothing about a BH209 specific BP. How tight should a Saboted bullet be? I did not feel that I could got one started without smashing the ballistic tip. Anyone with a CVA BP have the ability to take measurements and make a mechanical drawing? I can...

    Spacing on cedar screening?

Are you going for a solid "wall"? If so I would go to 6'-8', you can always thin if needed. Other option would be to stagger trees so you end up with two rows in a checkerboard fashion.

    New cameras

From what I am reading, it sounds like the Cuddeback E2 is one of the better models out there right now, and they have a lifetime warranty? Are the blackout models still the big thing? Does that make that much of a difference in not spooking deer vs. a regular IR flash. Especially if the...

    BH 209 issue

I am going to look into longer range muzzle loaders, I am sure it will be awhile before I could afford one though. Would be the equivalent of a bean field rifle from down south. I know I could set a shooting house on one hill top and easily have a 500+ shot in every direction. Could make that...

    BH 209 issue

Hopefully I can answer the questions directed at me. I am shooting a Traditions Vortek. It is the BP that came with the gun, I have not looked at their website to see if they make a BH specific BP. I am shooting CCI 209 Magnums. The bullet was a Barnes Expander Spit-Fire TMZ, with a Crush Rib...

    BH 209 issue

This was my first year using BH 209, 100 gr charge. I had no problems while sighting in and during shotgun season. On Saturday I tried to shoot a doe and did not get a good ignition. The bullet and sabot exited the barrel but I am sure did not go far. At the shot heard more of a hiss as the...

    Which muzzleloader scope?

I like my Leupold Ultimate Slam 3-9x10 40mm. I would recommend getting lens covers, they are not that much money and save a ton of headache.

    HCO Spartan GoCam

What does that $5 get you, # pics, etc.? I doubt they would work for the places I would want to put one anyway, cell services is not the best.

    New to Food Plots

I would think oats would work. The deer should eat on them while they are still tender.

    Do you have a ticket??

I agree bkcrrtnps. I was thinking about all the people that someone could help out earlier today. I would definitely go buy some stupid toys, but I would not want to be known as that guy that was completely self centered and sit on it all. So, you have to have all the numbers in the exact...

2015 Rut and what does it mean for 2016

I tagged out on 14 October. He is a big 4.5 yr old. A friend of mine had pictures of him on is farm that is a mile and a half away two days prior to me shooting him. I also had pretty good pictures in that time of season. I did not see any other mature bucks, while trying to fill doe tags, till...

    Breaking up a field

I like your plan. I would go with cedar or scotch pine along the road. Scotch pine would give you about 20 yrs of screening, and deer wont eat it off. Put shrubs inside that.

abnormal late season. what's everyone's game plan?

Where is there ice? Playing on them finding the last of the does that were not breed.

    Mathews halon and htx??

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Expedition bows and I really like my Strother's from last year. Neither are big companies but it seems that there are several smaller bow companies that are giving the big guys a run for their money lately.

    Muzzleloader quick reload

I used the ones that I have for my Hawkin yesterday and it seemed to work fine. It is like the one LYON showed, without the sabot starter. Bullet and sabot go in hole on bottom and powder is poured on top of it from other side. I can not put a 209 on it, so I carried extras in a holder made of...

    Muzzleloader quick reload

What does everyone use to carry reloads for their muzzleloaders? I am shooting loose powder. I bought some no name reloading tubes from somewhere and the Crusher sabots will not go in them. I have some TC ones that are for my Hawken's that hold the bullet with the charge on top of it. The lid...
