I wouldn't put a stand in a River Birch. They are not a strong tree and tend to break off and have weak limb junctions. I would go with some kind of blind in this situation.
I used them last season. I need to send them in to see what is wrong with them. I used them snowshoeing and the quite on me, not sure if something in the computer or a loose wire. I have heard that they changed somethings in the new ones, not sure what though. I found that they worked better...
I am not to sure on how they hunt the property. The group is mostly older guys. I think they sit on the ground and maybe have the last person push through before the end of the day.
The brush blinds are just piled up limbs, I'm not going to tear them down, plus I do have some that are...
I bought a bunch of rods from Primos for a DB blind that was pre Primos. Most companies will sell you parts. I have pieced together blinds from different companies.
Two weeks ago had six open up on a field edge that is about 250 yds long. They are smaller, but who ever is making them was already tearing up the licking branches. I moved a cam onto one.
I kind of know them, but I do not know if they would use my blinds or not. Most of them are older guys and doubt they would get into a stand. For stands I have either hung them the night I am going to hunt them, after they are done hunting, or just take the stand down and hang it later. This is...
I have been hunting an 80 acre farm for the past few years, mostly bow and some later gun seasons. There is a small group of guys that have permission to hunt Early Muzzle loader season. I have a few brush blinds built and one pop up blind in place. There are a few definite shooters hanging out...
I stopped by the dealer in my area and will have to order a ladder stand if I want one. He does not have the room to store them, good thing is that they are not that far from me so it would be here in a day or two.
The serrations on the steps are not as aggressive as they looked in the...
Has anyone found an SD card reader that you can plug right into a smartphone? Would really like to look through cards while out in the field without having to carry another gadget around. Thanks.
Has anyone used X-Stands yet? I am looking at their ladder stands and climbing sticks. I am really liking the fact that you can secure the ladder stand from the ground before climbing in. The climbing sticks give more room to get your foot into the step. I am not sure if the serrations on the...
I have a white oak flat on a ridge top that runs into a corn and hay field. I am hoping a few of the good ones that I have on cam will show early on the field edge. I may set up in a staging area if nothing shows the first few nights I am out and what the cams show.
