    Corbens spot and stalk gobbler

I was scouting today. My son went in by Wilburs and sat for awhile and had 5 different gobbles in our area plus some on yours. I heard a few gobbling on yours while I waited for him to walk out. I am hunting archery and plan to hunt Monday and Tuesday at the other place. Had 5 strutting in my...

That is a very nice bird. Heard a few more gobbling on your place this am. Might even be a bigger bird for the contest.

    Iowa fishing youth question

Not sure about Buena Vista but here in Woodbury County the officers let the kids have their own limit. But they need to catch their own and not have help. It would be best to call and verify.

    Sheesh!

Pat, I bet it was a surprise of the registration cost. It will be all worth it when you get an IA booner.

    Youth 20 gauge load?

20 ga load I had my son shooting a mod choke and 3" Winchester #6. The modified choke liked the #6's better and it did spread them out a little if he was a little off on the aim. He killed his 1st at 25yds and it never even flopped.

    kids pet Hogzilla

I will let you know if it ever shows up. Some of the fences in the area are not in that great of shape, so it could walk right thru them.

    Tragic accident

I was contacted at 6:14 by a landowner to find out if I was hunting after a report of a hunter falling out of a tree stand west of Moorhead? This was after the call had came in so the time in the article is not accurate.

    Wagon Blind

If your going to paint it I would suggest paint the area around the windows flat black, so you don't get the black hole effect. We have a couple of these and found that once we painted them dark we never had them shy away. We also sprayed the windows and masked off an area and lightly hit it to...

    Wow, that was close!

Looks like Sam was pretty close to your cam. He didn't get a hair cut from any of us to the north. I did see a buck 2X that has a big bald spot on his back that looks like its possibly from rubbing.

New to the forumn and new to Iowa

There is several public hunting areas in Woodbury County that would be worth looking at, but Shag Bark near Correctionville, Oak Ridge near Oto, and South Woods near Smithland to name a few would be my top choices in the loess hills. Monona County has a lot of public hunting in the loess hills...
