The growth disappeared by the time late season 2012 rolled around so it must have popped and drained. I don't think his meat is affected anymore by the growth so he should be fine to eat.
I just don't think he was a giant buck genetically. We were hoping for a 15-20 inch growth from 2013 and...
Yesterday afternoon (November 10th) I was able to turn my luck around after a week of hunting hard while seeing very little movement and surviving a treestand fall due to a tree stand strap breaking. Thank God for the safeline. After a drought of exactly 2 years, I connected on a mature...

Bucks are able to keep their bodies cool which means they can stay on their feet longer in the mornings. Wind may still make them hunker down but this cold weather will make the does hit food pretty hard now so daylight movement of bucks should pick up again IMO
Just wanted to share our observations after 5 straights days of hunting. We are seeing known bedding areas vacated. Bucks have harassed does and they are now bedding in the surrounding standing corn fields. We had a ton of action around Halloween, but doe sightings are now few and far between...
I did a lot of research on these prior to buying the supplies and watched for great deals on 500ft of 11.6mm assault line rope made by blue water. I did the same on the 6 mm prusik cord. I made 25 ft lines but I would pry make them a little longer if I made more. I figured it cost $18/line or so...
The top strap broke in half. Must have had a weak spot or it had been chewed since mid September. After the top strap went the stand tipped forward and the bottom strap gave out too. Dumped me straight down and the stand fell to the ground.
I wanted to share my experience this afternoon. After climbing into my stand and beginning to retrieve my bow up, the straps on my lock-on popped and I fell. The straps were inspected when I put the stand up in September so I'm not sure what happened. Fortunately before last season I made...
If a farm with a 150 bu APH (average production yield) and an 80% coverage level raises 168bu/acre, there will not be a revenue claim. October's average of the Dec. futures is $3.306/bu as of today. (this number will change every day until Halloween when the final Oct average is determined)...
This is not how revenue protection works. I can explain it if you would like or you can take my word for it. A lot of farmers have produced their way out of a revenue claim this year it appears. Fall price hasn't been set yet (it is in discovery period).
Ask him what his revenue gurantee is per acre for that farm for Mulit-Peril Crop Insurance. Take $35/acre off of that number since he will not have harvest expenses. Example: If his 10 yr average yield is 145bu/acre and his coverage level he chose is 80%, then take 145 x 80%= 116bu/acre. The...
Agree with the previous statements. We will not determine if it is a cull buck until 4 or 5 years old. Usually they will have 8 points or less and score below 130.
