I was hunting out west with my father in some very dark Northwest timber. I was on a clearcut and he told me to come get him because I could hunt another 30 minutes longer due to the light on the cut and he didn't want to mess anything up by getting down early.
I got down out of my stand...
I would have guessed not the same deer as well but we obviously don't know him as well as you. Just goes to show you, it takes history to really have an idea some times...
Good luck chasing him this year.
According to moon phase (take it or leave it) chase won't be until ~16th to the 27th with first breeding arounding the 22nd. The times have matched up for me the last two years so I'm going to take a chance and wait until mid November.
Best of luck...
Only been out in the mornings and it's been very slow for me. Typically more movement at night in most of my areas pre rut but can't get out due to work.

One of the best properties we...
Wondering everyone's opinion on how cattle can affect deer movement. I hunt one farm that cows are always present on and deer seem to move through regulary, I actually shot my buck there last year, although I hate hunting around them.
I have another property that only has cattle for 5-6...
