Okay let me vent....started the season out with my son in youth season and on opening morning I put PB out with 2 hens.....right off the bat we get an answer and a tom is on it's way.....comes to 40 yds (in full strut) and veers out clear of us......No shot.
Sat. Morning we go to the same...
Well it was a long wait that finally paid off....practice through the winter for this 7 year old on a hand full of bunnies must of worked out. We watched this guy fly down from the roost at 300 yds and strut silently all the way into the decoys at 10 yds. He was pumped...
Thanks for the bit of advice...planning on shooting them all (I was anyways but wasn't going to waste my time if you guys had a bad opinion on one of them)!!
Thanks again........

I am in the process of purchasing a new bow and didn't know what some of your opinions are....now I know that I need to probably shoot each of these then evaluate but thought maybe I could weed it down to just 2! Thinking about either a....

I obviously know how to get a tag for myself with my drivers license but how do you go about getting a tag for a youth hunter? My oldest boy is 7 and been hunting with me for the past 3 seasons...we've been practicing with his youth 20 ga. on some clay pigeons and has about 12 bunnies...
The heck with those blackpowders...switch to the Savage ML II and shoot smokeless powder...there's not much (if any) clean up after the ENTIRE deer season....I shoot 69 gr. of H4198 and never had a misfire...Oh yeah, when your gun goes boom...you can actually see where you hit!!

To me it's personal preference on what power to sight in your gun at...does it make a difference...NO....the bullet should hit the same spot if you have it on 2x or 6x...I personally always turn my scope to it's highest power when sighting in a gun...it brings the target alot closer to my eye...
We found him this morning only to find him all bloated and orange/yellow tinted inside...he probably ran 150 yds and pile drove his snout into the sand. When I opened him up for an autopsy because I wanted to know where the shot placement was...Took out 1 lung...through the liver and a pass...
alright.....you guys talked me into waiting till morning....shot was dead nuts broadside with his front leg slightly forward....I did not however see any blood pumping out immediately...thus is why I was alittle unsure to begin with and asked for an opinion. Wish me luck in the AM!

Took the shot tonight on a mainframe 10 with a sticker off his G2....looked like a perfect shot....he just walked away like nothing happened....tail was twitching as he's walking off...I watched the arrow pass right through him and seen the hole after the shot...prob. watched him for 3-4 minutes...
Just trying to see if I can get this posting a pic thing down....Here's one that will be nice in another year!!
