    Crossbow Hunting.....

Are there Ohio hunters on this site willing to comment on this? They've been shooting crossbows there for years. Opinions I've heard are mixed. Some say crossbows are a non-issue, others say lots of guys start the archery season with a bow, then switch to the crossbow during the rut, presumably...

    Bad Storm

Ouch! Seems like bad weather all around lately. We had a hail storm Friday evening. Neighbor lost an entire field of beans he'd just planted. The ground was white for 3 hours before the stuff melted off. Hope all in Slater are OK?!

    Cattle and Deer?

In my experience, the effect of cattle has always depended on numbers and time. When there are just a few cows for a little while, it is not that big a deal to deer; they just kind of work around each other. The big problems seem to arise when too many cows are left on the landscape for too...

Texas Archery Triple! - PICS UP

Re: Texas Archery Triple! Fantastic! And great photos, too. Why did the rancher think the hunting was so tough? I've been to Texas twice and each time it was one extreme or the next; really good or really hard. It's some amazing turkey ground, though.

    N.R. fishing in Iowa?

Amen to wet tube socks...and I'm from MN! Say that too loud around here and I'll get strung up! Hooked a 20 pound carp on a fly rod once and I thought I'd need rotator cuff surgery. It was awesome!!!

Fly Fisherman, the rest of the story added

Re: Fly Fisherman A carp would surely put a bend in that rod. My cuz and I fly-fish lots of different fish, but mostly muskies and bass. One day we found a pod of carp moving upstream and he worked a fly under one of the big ones. That fish sucked up that fly and took off like a bronc! They are...
