Property taxes for those who film??

So I had to sign a statement for my property tax forest reserve exemption stating that the land is not used to film hunting for the commercial purposes or something to that effect. So I assume that if it is I lose my tax exemption? I wonder how this is effecting some of the big names like...

    Wanting to buy land

I bought some timber land in SE Iowa in 2012 for 2K/acre for 80 acres and at the time there was a larger tract for around 1600/acre that was just too much for my price range. I don't think prices have changed much since then....?

    Hand guns

RE Any good (not Kimber) hand built 1911 is going to be over 4k.... I'm referring to weapons that will go over 5,000 rounds without cleaning, IE: combat/pro-comp weapons.... Take a 3 day/1500 round count class with your 1911 and see how many spare parts you go through. It's all a matter...

    Hand guns

Re I hesitate to get involved in these debates but I would like to say, DONT BUT A TAURUS!!!! Whenever someone asks me the old CCW question my answer is always Glock. Yes there are other good striker fired ccw pistols on the market but none of them stack up to glock imho. In my duties as a...

How does a "fence of convienience" work?

The fence was built to avoid the creek and probably avoid dealing with floods. But I don't like the idea of giving away my creek bottom because he raises cattle. I have an appointment with a lawyer next week.

How does a "fence of convienience" work?

re Thanks for all the replies. It's probably about 2 to 3 acres and its all creek bottom, hence the fence. I will speak to the land owner when I visit to look for mushrooms. I have only owned the land for 2 years and I have no idea how long the fence has been there.

How does a "fence of convienience" work?

I have a "fence of convenience" on my property that favors the neighbors cow pasture. This is a new concept to me and I was wondering if anyone knows the legalities of this? I assume that since I actually own part of the property on his side of the fence that I can legally hunt it?

Wake up nr's/friends & even residents of ia - governor tags this legislation session

You guys make some interesting points. For what its worth I know of 7 Michigan hunters who hunted Iowa this year and did NOT kill a single deer. Two were hunting Ground they owned, Three were hunting a Residents private farm, and the last two were hunting state land. We all spent loads of $ on...

    New Shotgun

I don't understand why anyone would want to hunt deer with a bird gun! It's unethical. You can get a rifled barrel slug gun used for $300 or new for $400. Just sayin...

NR Buck Tag. Shotgun vs. Muzzle loader

Party hunting laws can be easily abused. Tags are sold, used illegally, bought by people who never set foot in the woods, etc. I know it's a tradition to drive deer and party hunt in Iowa, but that doesnt make it right. Just my opinion, as long as your not breaking any laws, more power to ya...
