Nothing good can come from taking a quartering to shot.Most of the time its either a long tracking job to find your deer or it is never found.Hopefully it's a lesson learned.Good luck finding your buck.

Yes nannyslayer you would have the rights to a landowner/tenent tag but you wouldn't have the right to lease the land to someone else for other reasons without the consent of the landowner.Now if your contract says you also have hunting rights to the land that would be a different story.

The law is meant to make it harder or for non-residents to buy land in Iowa and live here from August till December and claim residency to buy an resident deer tag.And get landowner tags.

Its not a good idea to look at the rack to judge age...If that buck had shed his antlers everyone would be guessing 4 1/2 or older.
