On another thread, some of y’all talked about planting soybeans before the soil temp was 65. Said there was some proof of better yields.
So what soil temp are y’all using as a guideline? Is there a particular brand of brand that does better with an early planting?
On a warm night, lows above 40 or so, you can play coon puppy distress calls and they will come right in. We used to do it floating down a river and more than once they jumped in the river and tried to get in the boat. If it’s a cold, frosty night, they will hardly come down out of the den tree...
Well, I can see how that would make you not a fan.
But in a more traditional type food plot setting, how does it do? Putting clover sized seeds into last years grains etc?
Most of us are not farmers but we are as anal about our plots as if we were. Most also do not plot on a big enough scale to be really beneficial imo. Again, imo, it’s the cumulative effect of you and the neighbors all planting.
I know a couple of people who have these type of implements. One...
Ok. No seed tubes but I assume there are individual openings for the seed to come out. If so, if you could catch the seed coming out of the individual openings, you could still weigh the seed.
Why would it not work? As long as the blend is mixed well enough you would know how many pounds to the acre you were putting out. As long as the Firminator has an agitator, I would think that it would work.
Does the Firminator not have drops? Does it only use a “splash” pan? If no individual...
There is a good YouTube video on calibration of grain drills.
I’ll do my best to explain it but please forgive me if I Jack it up. It supposedly works for all drill types.
Drive a known distance while collection the seed from a tube. Distance has to be at least 150’ or so. Can’t remember but...
Shoot a deer through the lungs with a .22 and he dies very quickly.
There is no reason to think that a gun pushing a 150 grain soft pointed bullet is not capable of killing a deer.
It’s much like bows, people think more makes up for bad shots. Put it in the pumping station and you’ll be fine...
Coyotes are just dogs and all dogs are very susceptible to Parvo. It’s a rough disease especially for puppies.
If your dog gets parvo, you could take some of the poop and put it on your land. Parvo can live in the soil for years.
If you could somehow get Parvo going in the coyotes, it would...
Not saying the numbers aren’t down but many no longer get deer mounted. It’s gotten way too expensive. I am the point where I just do an at home European mount and call it good.
Hunting shows have helped ruin hunting everywhere. Now everybody wants to be a YouTube star and to do that you have to kill critters.
I’ve said it before but it bears repeating. Y’all need to do all you can to limit NR tags and never allow NR landowners to get tags.
Also, your state needs...
