    Tillable cash rent questions….

I wouldn’t run a good farmer off for a little more money. If he’s been good to you and your dirt, I’d take that into consideration.

New Turkey hunter- what to get?

My “decoy” for years has been a gobblers fan cable tied to an old arrow. Don’t fall into the trap of needing a expensive decoy. Patience kills more turkeys than anything. Just get a slate call. Very easy to make turkey music with it. If hunting hilly terrain, try and setup above the turkeys...

How far will a mature buck travel?

I missed a buck with on a Friday and he was killed 24 hours later about 3 miles away. The land I was hunting bordered a state park where the deer population was supposed to be about 80 dpsm. This was at Knob Noster State Park in 1989.

    Spring Grass seeding

Gly will be slow to work until the temps get up to 80. You may know but was just pointing it out.

    Fuel Prices

And this reply above is really all that matters. Buy and use American oil and employ Americans or buy from our enemies and lay-off American workers

    Fuel Prices

Yep. But are they smart enough to realize what it’s costing them now? We both know they’re not but surely some of them have opened their eyes.

    Fuel Prices

Sad part is that he told everyone what he was going to do and people still voted for him. Curious if those people are bitching about the gas prices! Also curious if anybody that voted for him can tell us one thing Biden has done that they’re proud of or happy with.

HF 2410 formerly HSB610 NRLO tags

It’s ok. The wait and limited pressure is what makes it so fun. I just wish Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, and Nebraska would limit their tags as well. Kansas and Illinois should cut their amount of tags in half and Missouri should set the amount at half of what they sold last year. To a point...

    Trailcam reliability and life

I figure I get one year of service for every $50.00 of trail camera cost so I hope to get 2 years out of a $100.00 camera. Most are just Chinese junk and it’s just a pipe dream to think they will last longer than a couple of years when exposed to the elements

HF 2410 formerly HSB610 NRLO tags

Congrats on y’all’s (hopeful) success. I’ll continue to wait 5 years for my NR tag. Hope to visits the great state of Iowa in 2023.

HF 2410 formerly HSB610 NRLO tags

Very sorry that they are chipping away at y’all’s awesome deer hunting. As a NR, I honestly don’t want them to ruin what y’all have but I’d be a liar if I said I will not take advantage of any extra opportunities that are presented minus the 80 acres and 10 year wait. I’d be more inclined to...

HF 2410 formerly HSB610 NRLO tags

I think their numbers may be correct as of right now but definitely not long term. How many NR would have bought 80 acres and just sat on it for the last 10 years? In that time, they could have bow hunted it 3 times at the most. I almost purchased 40 acres up there about 8 years ago but did not...

SF 2142 Increases NR tags with a twist

Gotcha. While I hate only going up there every 5 years, I sure don’t want it to turn into Kansas or Illinois. There’s a reason we wait so long and pay so much. It’s worth it.

SF 2142 Increases NR tags with a twist

When we NR apply and get rejected, they keep about $68.00 for the PP. They also hold the money we sent for a few months again, minus the $68.00 Imagine if an extra 5000 people put in because of that and they get the extra $68.00 plus the interest earned for 3 months. It all adds up. Now, how...

    Night Vision Scopes and handhelds

The only dual purpose clip ones that I have seen were very expensive. It was thermal and not night vision though. Up there, a top end night vision scope would be great especially with snow on the ground however, no snow and corn stubble and a thermal would be better. I used NV and thermal...

SF 2182 Shooting feral hogs from an aircraft

They develop thick coats in cold weather. Even down here in Georgia, there is a very noticeable difference in their coats in January versus July.

SF 2182 Shooting feral hogs from an aircraft

Hogs thrive in cold weather. Russian hogs are from cold climates. The extreme cold may help regulate their breeding but they’ll be fine.

SF 2182 Shooting feral hogs from an aircraft

For sure. A blast to hunt and I totally get why people THINK they want them. If they bred like deer and could be controlled they would be ok but they have 2 litters a year with no set breeding season. Gestation is 3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days and sexual maturity is 6-8 months. Easy to see how...
