I have several clover plots that got very weedy this year with both grass and broadleafs. Been waiting for right conditions to spray butyrac and cleth and seeing some cool temps coming in next week. Should I spray during one of those cool days or wait until fall?
About 10 days ago I no-till drilled brassicas into a killed off clover plot that had a lot of foxtail in it. It was a plot that I frost seeded red clover last spring and didn't keep up on foxtail/weed control. Hatch quite a lot of thatch and appears that I don't have a very good stand because...
Tell me more! I have a solo that I absolutely hate because the strap is so awkward. I am obviously using it wrong.
To the OP, I also have a Hooyman hand seeder that I really like for heavier seeds. It uses a harness style shoulder attachment that stays on your shoulders and you can unclip...
Won't matter if you spray gly before or after planting. Might try burning the dead thatch ahead of time to get better seed to soil contact. Can't quite see in the picture, but looks like some of the weeds are broadleaf that are likely resistant to gly.
I have done EQIP monarch mix and shrub plantings and currently in process of applying for more on another farm. Both instances have been in Iowa. The rates I have seen are MUCH lower than Primosguy was quoted. Maybe Missouri has higher rates than Iowa?
This is an old thread but I am preparing for a spring 2026 CP25 CRP planting into bean stubble. Most of the CRP is around the perimeter of a heavily wooded area and I really want to do a mix that will be premier deer habitat. Looks like there are multiple options for CP25 compliant mixes...
Sorry to stir up this hornets nest! Ended up ordering the OnTrak system that IowaBowHunter1983 said he uses. Starting to farm a bit so used that as justification in my mind.....not just for food plotting LOL. Thanks all for the input.
Anybody know if the new farm bill that was part of the OBBB changed the year window that crop eligibility determines CRP eligibility? We started farming some pasture several years ago to get it transitioned into CRP eventually.
Wondering whether it is worth adding a small seed box to a Genesis 5 drill. Anybody have any experience with the add on small seed box and worth it? Or just stick with the main box? It appears from pictures that the small seed box seed tubes block the removal of the seed tray that you use to...
Rob, has the accuracy of the original unit been adequate for you? I can't seem to find the accuracy now in their specs, but when I found it before it seems like the original accuracy was somewhere around 18" and the upgraded Ion unit cut that in about half. While I am primarily only doing...
There is a thread about this over in a spray dye section so thought I would start one here where it is more clear of the topic. Does anybody have any recommendations for an economical GPS tracking system for tractors/UTV's? Looking for something that I can use with a boom sprayer. I see...
All, considering a new Demco 60 gallon sprayer with 5gpm electric pump and 18' boom for UTV. Does anybody have any experience with these and recommend or not? Appears to be a high quality unit that is midway between the FIMCO stuff and the real high end Honda gas engine pump units.
