I got out again this morning with this guy! He was loving it. Probably didn’t know what was going on but he was all smiles. 4 of us probably caught 300ish crappie and bluegills again. Kept around 50… caught an awesome white crappie but he was scales and bones. Let him go in hopes of catching him...
I’d be fine with early muzzleloader being iron sights only like Colorado’s muzzleloader season but I don’t think early muzzleloader is a bunch of people shooting young bucks though. I fact you could argue it protects from more deer getting shot because it’s a limited tag and if you buy an early...
If NRLO were so worried about managing their herd they’d make friends with residents and have them come in and shoot does with them.
But I’d be fine with NRLOs getting doe tags for $50 a piece.

So when NRLO can get a tag every year, you think the NRs with money aren’t going to come in and buy up land? Displacing more residents to hunt the already crowded public?

Really hope we can get them banned from public grounds next year. Definitely make the hunting better, not to mention not having to see a camera on every 5th tree. Make cell cams on private delayed send only too.

We have quite a few in Story county. You’d actually be surprised how common they are in the state. You just rarely see them.

Still going to be awhile IMO. The counties that don’t have a season. Should report sightings and release catches to their county CO. Only way they get a good read on numbers. I know only one guy was reporting his bobcat catches a few counties over and as soon as he got other trappers to report...
We put the hurting on some crappies and bluegills this morning. I bet we caught well over 300 fish. Kept 72 crappie and 32 bluegills. Gideon’s first fishing trip.

I’ve seen trailers full of tree stands removed this spring. Our one CO told us if we see them during turkey season to send him a location and they’ll get them. A lot of ground to cover to remove them all. I agree though way too many get left every year but I also see where is the time spent...
There’s definitely been a genotype found in deer that is more resistant to the prion which makes me laugh when some states “management strategies” are to kill more deer. As you aren’t selecting for more resistance and the prion stays in the area anyways

I know they do quite a bit of CWD testing at the USDA lab in Ames.
The hard issue on finding a cure is it’s not a viral or bacterial disease. It’s a prion and irreversible. Almost all drugs on the market today are made to target RNA and DNA sequences in viruses and bacteria. Prions don’t have...
