Welcome to the site, and welcome to deer hunting. I am over in the Quad Cities (new to Iowa, but have been hunting my whole life). I am not sure where on the eastern side of the state you are, but I am always looking for new people to hunt/fish with!

    90% junk!!

I have 2 Cuddeback Capture IR's, and they are by far the best I have used. A little pricey, but easy to use, take great pictures, and extremely reliable.

    Load imformation.

I clean the barrel after each shot (I bought a "T" power handle to get all the way to the bottom), and pull the breech plug and clean it after every 5th shot. I think i may need to play around with different sabots. Powerbelt is what CVA recommended...what do other CVA owners shoot?

    Load imformation.

I am shooting a CVA buckhorn, and originally shot 150 grns of 777 and 245 gr powerbelts, but I was shooting all over the place (18" high, then 12" low etc.). I backed off to 100 grns of 777 with the same bullets and my groups tightened up a lot (5" at 100 yards). Does anyone have any other...

    DNR Banning Mineral

I agree with the ban for 2 reasons. 1) the obvious spread of diseases such as CWD, TB, blue tongue, etc. Anyone who thinks that mineral licks and bait piles are not how these disease are transmitted is just wrong. I think it is great that they are trying to put preventative measures in place...

    No more food plots?

This is basically in regards to setting out piles of corn, apples, mineral licks, etc. Diseases suck as CWD and blue tongue are transmitted through the saliva at these feeding sights. This was also done in Wisconsin in recent years to combat their outbreak of CWD. I am personally for it. If...
