Paul...? for you...Would you recommend leaving the corn standing after it matures or mowing with a brush hog to scatter the corn?
Was wondering if leaving the standing corn would be a pain in the butt to plow under come spring? and would it be better to scatter the corn rather than leave it on...
A note from NE pa...great thread. We tried corn again this year. Not having a corn planter available we tried broadcasting corn. I first put urea and fertlizer down then We used a cultivator to work the soil up. I then broadcast RU read corn with my hand seeder. Then disced and cultipacked...
Here in Northeast Pa i am experiencing the same results...I cked my brassica plots this weekend and most all the greens are gone. Although there is a considerable amount of turnips and forage radish that are still in the ground..some nibbled on other not touched.
We have also had below normal...

We planted brassicas in several of our food plots this year. They came up great, deer ate the heck out of em. (if i had to do over i would have planted about 2 weeks earlier than i did so they would have grown a tad larger)
Can i grow sugarbeets in those...
