    Governor's Tag Success

With me having the slowest season in many years with no mature (5years old) buck sightings because of the blue tongue and poacher losses in my area I was wondering if all the people who received the governor's tag had a good year. Maybe next year no one will apply for them.

    He is back for more

Here is a picture of a buck I shot and wounded last year; you can see where the broadhead (rage) slid along his rib cage behind his front leg, the angle was too sharp. Hope to do better this year. He is 5.5 years old this year, would like to let him go to 7.5 but I don't have enough acres to...

    Acorns Falling

Last week while checking my camera's I saw an oak tree loaded with acorns, going by this week checking the camera's I noticed the grass all beaten down under the oak and looking up I saw most of the acorns had fallen to the ground. Anybody else notice this? The extreme heat cause this early...

    Another on the "Rage List".

It's been slow on the mineral licks this summer but I finally had one to add to my fall list. I am 90% sure this buck was the buck I called the "short G-4 ten pointer. He has been a 10 pointer for the last 2 years. His brow tines have gotten longer and he has dropped the g-4's (but they were...

    White Buck Fawn

This fawn started out this spring with the normal fawn spotted color except for the spot on his forehead and the white socks. Now he is starting to turn white. Hopefully I will be able to follow this buck as he ages.

This one might have to do

Like alot of bucks that I have been following over the years, some of them just disappear never to be seen again and others just reappear at certain times of the year. The buck I am trying to find is nowhere to be found, even though for the last 2 years he was easily seen over the summer...

Get away from my mineral lick

I get alot of deer fighting over who gets to use the mineral lick; other animals also argue too, they all must be attracted to the salt and standing water.

    Another buck picture

I thought this buck peaked last year at around 135". He had a huge body and fiqured he was done growing as far as his antlers were concerned. But this year he is starting to look like he might put on some more inches which is fine with me. Last year he was a basic 10 pt. now I see he has some...

    Nice 3.5 year old

Here is a buck I have been following for 2 years. I call him flattop because of the way his main beams flatten out right out of his head. He has been real easy to id the last 2 years.

    Next years possible target

We let this buck go this year hoping that he would make it through all the seasons and it looks like he did make it. Not too big yet but being a 3.5 (I think) and pretty heavy hopefully he will put some inches on. The deer in the background are feeding on what is left of my brassica patch. In...

    Bat at mineral lick

This doe was at my mineral lick for 16 photo's in a row, with the camera set on 1 minute delay. Wonder if all the flashing brought insects in which in turn brought the bat by at just the right time. Or maybe it's picking the mosquitos off buzzing the deer anyway it is my first bat trail picture.

    Night time bucks

I have been getting alot of buck pictures but ones with any horns at all seem to be coming out only at night. The heat would do that to me too I guess if I had to live outdoors full time. [image]http://www.iowawhitetail.com/photopost/data/515/114Big_Brow_7-26-07-med.JPG
