    Edge Feathering and bedding areas

Hinge Cuts Dbltree, We are in our second year of hinge cutting. We do not have a lot of property so have decided to hinge pretty radically the hardwoods we have, making funnels, pockets, and bedding edges on ridges, and keeping our hinged areas accessible by taking out firewood and leaving...

    Edge Feathering and bedding areas

Cherries I do not have many cherries, but in areas I hunt with cherries, when there is a year they fruit well the deer tear up the leaves getting to them. Cherries are high quality lumber and I leave straight ones for timber.:)

First hinge cut results We hinge cut 4 separate areas for the first time. We have not been seeing many deer for several years and have poor or no cover. We have zero browse left and deer have dissapeared pretty much. 30 years of good hunting but not now. I have about nine acres of south facing woods 300 yards wide...

    New to Hinge Cutting

Hi, I just joined this forum and would like to learn all I can about hinge cutting. I have read that trees should be cut in winter. I have read you can cut any time in winter when sap is down and have also read you should only cut in late winter when sap is rising and it is warmer. We do not...
