Anyone ever bought a farm thru a self-directed IRA?

If you buy land with your IRA can you use it yourself without penalty?

Usually do several a year, just haven't capitalized. One of these times it'll work out I'm sure.

    All day sits

As I'm currently in the middle of an all day sit, I'm wondering how many times has an all day sit paid off for others. I mean in the form of a buck being killed. I've done quite a few and haven't taken a buck during one yet.

    Rut Action/Movement Reports

I've been off since Friday and will hunt pretty hard every day till the 14th. Warmer weather and east winds haven't been ideal. Does and young bucks so far. Did see some fawns by themselves this morning though so just have to keep grinding away and know that any day could be the day

    November 7th bow kill

He came in following a doe about 8 am. Have pics of him from summer in velvet. Shot was 18 yards I think. He made it 75 yards. Thought when I saw him step out it was the 9 point with heavy beams I’d had my eye on throughout the summer. When I walked up on him after the shot there was no doubt...

    All day sits

I’m doing an all day sit right now. Probably wouldn’t have today but it was a long walk to the stand and I don’t really have another good one for SE wind anyhow. Been slow, hopefully it picks up soon.

    CRP Mowing

We planted big bluestem and switch for a crp contract last year. Wasn't able to mow it because it was so wet last year in our area. It got pretty thick with foxtail in a couple small fields, in fact nothing but foxtail. I burned the 2 small fields this past February(2016) and both those fields...

    Crp planting

We planted our crp into corn stubble. First we mowed the stalks down and then waited for some weeds to start to come up and then sprayed. It was worth the money to spray. At first it didn't look like it would even need spraying but weeds started coming up.

    Anybody enrolled in pollinator mix

I enrolled 18 acres in the pollinator program in Missouri. Have seen quite a few deer beds in it and have noticed a big increase in the amount of deer activity on that part of the farm. We put alfalfa down when we planted our mix. I'm not sure about the brush piles. Have also seen quite a few...

    Elite bow

I just bought an elite energy 32, I really like the grip but I'm wondering since your hand is up against the finish of the bow all the time has anyone seen the finish rub off like other bows after a bunch of shooting or does the cerakote hold up a lot better? Was wondering if I should add a...

    Range finders

I have a Nikon archers choice, bought new in 09 and I still haven't changed the battery. Has been very dependable. If I had to get another rangefinder I think I'd go with Nikon again.

    Safelines

The rope was cheap but not cheaply made, it's double braided nylon, mold and uv resistant. I'm not big on falling either, have fallen off a roof and shattered my heel. The stuff I bought was 1/2 diameter with a working load of close to 600 pounds which the way they rate it is usually around 1/5...

    Safelines

Check out PBS boat store, they sell rope fairly cheap, I just made 12 liflelines for less than $250. Shipping to Missouri was close to $50. The rope comes with a 3 year warranty.
