Good point. We used Cave and Rock as the other blends seem to be new and not enough information out there about their long term viability. Not that they will not work. I was just being cautious.

Here is what we did after a lot of research and reading hundreds of pages here. Be Patient and do not panic until year four. 1. We disced and then frost seeded into corn stubble in the late winter. 2. Sprayed 2-4D, Simazine (Pre-emergent) and Glyphosate in the spring. (Mid-April in Michigan)...

It will not come up until next year. The seed needs to stratify first.

Second year switch. Frostseeded, sprayed pre-emergent and post emergent 1st year and then nothing else. Did not mow.

Something is coming up

2nd year switchgrass. Clover around the outside and soybeans in the middle. Could not find switchgrass the 1st year. Shorter switchgrass on the edges where more shade is present.

That would be a big bummer. We frost seeded then sprayed with Simazine, 2-4d, and glyphosate. The ground was brown until mid June. Between this and the foxtail, I am not sure if there is anything else in the fields.

Can anyone tell me if this is Cave in Rock switchgrass? We planted around 12 acres and this dominates the fields.

Do you see any switchgrass in these pictures? Seems really tall but I think some fertilizer was added to the planting.
