Is there any benefit to mowing it like many do for corn to get it on the ground? ...to make it easier to hunt over

I grew up in Mercer county, MO amd still hunt a few farms there. On my farms I would say the deer numbers are down compared to 5 years ago. In 2017 I would see 10-15 on some good evenings. Now I'm lucky to see 5.

I 100% agree that no good solution has been proposed yet to help stop CWD. On the other other hand, I think I would still like to know if CWD is present on my farms, how it's spreading, where its most prevalent, etc. All in the hopes to better understand causality and where our research dollars...

My scrape activity has slowed a little the last couple days. Bucks are still scent checking them but just very brief stops. I thinking they're just transitioning to the search phase and less about laying down sign.

I recently bought the Kuiu Katana pants after loving the Kuiu Attack pants. The Katana's are supposed to be for mild/warmer weather and pretty robust. If you're looking for higher-end, long lasting pants I think Kuiu makes some good ones.

That's a generous offer! I'll be re-purposing a hayfield next year into more habitat and plan to work in some chestnuts, pears and oaks as part of that. Good mix of species you got there. I'm sure I'll be seeking some IA Whitetail advice next year when I get ready to plant.
