A friend and I both ordered red cedars from the Iowa DNR nursery last year that were delivered in April. Both him and I had less than 10% survival rate. They are going to replace them this spring.
I am seeing such a big difference in size. Some poults are about 3/4 grown while others look like they just hatched. I have not seen this much size variation in the past. Are others seeing/noticing this?

When planting cedars for a screen how far apart do you guys recommend planting them? Also is there a need to protect them if planting bare root trees from a nursery?

Has anyone else noticed bucks dropping their horns already? I have 2 mature deer that I was going to target in late muzzy that have shed 1 side and several other younger deer. This is across multiple farms in multiple county's. Anyone else seeing this? What causes this to happen?
