How best to determine cash rent acres?

So, I just had a conversation my local FSA office about a month ago, because I had my tenant do some brushclearing and sodbusting to create more tillable acres to create farming history going forward (to generate the largest ROI in cash rent or if I want to put into CRP, etc down the road)...

    Drilling seed or Broadcasting

I am converting pasture land to about 4.5 acre plot. So the soil is not great (pH -5.9 -6.1), so realistically I am not sure how much will grow.... I have both forage milo and grain milo seed. but yes it is a 90 day seed. I am not expecting a great crop until can build the soil up a bit more...

CRP rate sheet for one area- time is now!!!

I would love to enroll some of my property into CRP or Grasslands program, my issue is you have to own the land for at least 12 months in order to qualify and start the process.. my first year of ownership comes up in Jan, so hopefully prices will stay decent. Unless if someone know some sort...

How tall you think the sorghum will be after 1 month from being planted? Because that’s approximately about when I would broadcast seed into it..

    Honey Locust Tips

Got it. Thanks for the clarity. I have started cutting the bigger ones down then treating the stumps. If I leave the barbless trees will they sprout up other barbless treats?

    Honey Locust Tips

So let me see if I understand this correctly.... you are just coating the bark throughly about 2 foot up from the ground, You are not cutting, hacking or drilling into the tree at all? I have a honey locust problem, trees that are very large. If this backpack sprayer works, you will be my hero...

    Water hole question!

For those of you who have put water holes/tanks in the ground, approximately how far apart from each other have you put them? 100 yards, 200 yards? 1 tank/20acres? Also, how far away from a pond/creek that has water?

    Beans and corn together

Awesome thank you, I dont have much equipment so this is about the only way I will be able to get something done. Ive got a 4wheeler with some black boar attachments (disc, cultipacker) and a sprayer. So trying to figure out how I can maximize efficiency with little equipment.

    Apple/Pear Trees

Has anyone ever tried the Orange snow fence material for fencing them in? I was looking at TSC and this seemed to be a little bit cheaper and more budget friendly than the welded wire fencing.

    Beans and corn together

Sorry for maybe a dumb question (I am just getting into alot of this land/habitat management stuff) but When you say you just disc in the soybeans and milo, does that mean that you are broadcasting the seed with a backpack spreader or something similiar and then coming back over the top with the...
