I'd assume you can never go wrong with the 870 I know its a great gun. However my first was a Benelli Nova in 20 gauge. Great for young kids since its very light and extremely reliable. You can drag it through the duck blind mud, deer woods snow, and rain in the spring after turkeys and still...
Ok guys I'm not going to ask ur opinion on Hoyt vs Matthews cuz I've shot both and love em both. Unless you have something pressing you want to say on the matter. The real question is specifically how does the new Hoyt charger compare to a used Matthews Z7 (one at a pro shop near me) or the new...
So I've got an ancient pse nova that I'm looking to replace and wanted some feedback on single vs dual cam bows. What are you guys shooting and why did you go that route?
I've been doing a lot of research on bows because I'm hoping to have a new by next season. I was wondering if any of you have had experience with Bear bows? I'm looking at getting one a little cheaper but still have good quality and these seem like a good option. Good or bad idea?
So I've only got 2 trail cams right now but that number will soon be increasing. I find it a pain to drag my laptop into the woods or pull cards and take them back to the house then have to return them to the cam. I could get a couple more cards and just rotate them, but I like the idea of...
In our group in se Iowa I'm seeing a lot of improvement. Not necessarily in the size of bucks in the area, but what we are shooting. I'm only 22 so I don't have near the experience a lot of you guys do. But I've been shotgun hunting with this group since I was 14 and bowhunting on my own for...
Thanks guys I figured I'd get some good feedback on em. My only worry is they might be a little more than what I'm wanting to spend but it sounds like they're worth it.
jjohnson where is your shop located? Do you have any 2012 models still in stock that might be a little easier on the wallet...
Hey guys do any of you shoot elite bows? I watched some reviews on them and they all say how incredibly smooth they are. Something I like when looking into a new bow soon. Particularly interested in the hunter or answer. I'm curious as to the prices because I can't seem to find anything online...
I use the nap quick fletch blazers through my whisker biscuit. Seems to be pretty accurate and deadly enough to put deer on the ground. And that's with a 10 year old or more pse nova.
I'm in the same boat. Looking for something under $700. I just shot the hoyt charger and loved it. Also shot mission ballistic and wasn't as impressed. Still a good bow but not near as smooth as the charger. I'm also gonna check out the pse drive and bowtech assasin and maybe some others before...
I switched from fixed blade to the schwacker this year. Doesn't look like they're all that popular with you guys but so far I love em. When sighting them in they flew exactly like my field points. No adjustment whatsoever. They're claim to fame is the rear deploying blades that don't fully open...
Thanks guys those are the responses I was expecting. I must not have been clear earlier but I'm not looking to extend my bow range, I know a new bow won't do that. I'm just addicted to bow hunting and love the challenge of getting em in close enough to let an arrow fly. My thoughts were to get...
Hey guys I've got an opinion question for ya. How many of you are diehard with your bow throughout the whole season or do you hang it up for the muzzleloader when late muzzy season opens? I was bow hunting late season in January this year and was disappointed several times when I had shooter...
How many of you guys do your own food plot work or find that you don't have much time for it but have the desire to have something? I'm soon to graduate Iowa state in ag business and agronomy and I've always wondered how I could use that to benefit my love for hunting and the outdoors.
I've...
Let me know how your search goes. I'm lookin for a bow for my girlfriend to get her into bow hunting with the same criteria. Doesn't need to be the best there is, just something to get her set up.
Unless you find the perfect used setup for cheap, the mission craze is only around $280 bare bow. Seems like a good price for the versatility of draw length and weights with the Matthews name behind it.
I've hunted deer all my life, but am going to give turkey hunting a try for the first time this spring in southeast Iowa. Do you guys have any suggestions on what calls are necessities? Also, how vital are decoys to your hunts and what setups do you use?
Look at the mission craze. They are made by Matthews and I've heard some good things about em. They have a ton of adjustability. I think they are marketed for the youth but would be a great women's bow
I'm looking into buying a new bow because I have an old hand me down pse nova. I'm looking around the $500 range bare bow. I think I've narrowed it down to the Hoyt charger, mission ballistic by Matthews, or the pse drive. Has anyone shot these or have any other suggestions?
