Well i need to start of by saying i never tought i would hunt deer with a gun, and i dont know if i ever will again i just love to bow hunt. Yesterday 12/11/05 I was driving home on the gravel roads and my neighbor pulled up beside me and we were talking and looking at the geese in the field. I looked over and saw this boy out in the field with 9 does. My neighbor shotgun hunts and i bought a tag this year for whatever reason i dont know (just in case i decided to shoot one i guess.) My neighbor didn't have a gun so i gave him my Benelli Super black eagle and told him to sneek down the side of the hill and wait because that is were the deer were headed to, i didn't want to shoot it but i wanted my neighbor to shoot it because he lets me bowhunt his land and and it was just a nice thing to do. Well the deer were headed right towards him when they must have seen him move a little bit but they spooked up the hill towards me, i had my pheasant gun an over under Verona shotgun just in case they came my way and sure enough they did. he walked by me in the waterway at 20 yards, and shot him. I really didn't get to excited about it though i dont know why. Now before you guys start bashing me about driving down the road and seeing a buck out in the field and just going after it, i know the guy who owns the field very well and he told me i could hunt it when ever i want, i just thought there would be no point in hunting it because it is just a bean field with no timber. Guess i was wrong. Here are the pictures.

He has a 21 1/2" spread.

Man how could you not get excited about it? I get excited everytime, even when I shoot a doe and I've been hunting since I was 8. That's 30 years.
Get pumped man!

The day I don't get excited is the day I will quit hunting. And I don't see that happening anytime soon. A buck to be proud of.

I would be stoked to shoot a buck like that. I'm a bowhunter at heart too, but like to take out the gun every year just for the heck of it. I still get excited over even a doe too. Be proud of that animal.
I'm still left with the feeling of confusion though. Your story had the tone like one that ended with a miss or a wounded deer that wasn't recovered???
