I have been playing musical chairs/blinds with a group of 3 toms and an old loner bird all week, as they follow the hens around a 15 acre cornfield, with timber on 3 sides, and my horse pasture on the other. I have 3 blinds up, and no matter which one I go to, they strut by the others. Last night Colton went to one, I went to another, and sure enough the turkeys went to the one we did'nt. I told him to leave the stuffed decoy out, I was going back in the morning. Bad idea, when I got there this morning it was flattened. It's neck ripped apart, tail busted off and all messed up, coyote?. I got it fixed finally, but the 3, and the loner went to the bottom blind, of course, and then followed the hens over the hill like always.
It was starting to rain so I headed back home, had to get the garbage down the driveway before 11:00. You never know when a good stalk will come up, so I keep my stuff in the truck, during the day. My driveway is 3/4 mile, and while taking the garbage down, I saw the 3 from a distance strutting around a hen on a terrace. I parked the truck out of site, and as soon as they went over the terrace, I ran as fast as I could to the terrace, nocked an arrow and crawled up it. Almost to the top I pulled back and popped up. All 3 gave me the "Oh s--t" face. As the strutter started dropping his tail, turning to run, the 3-blade muzzy caught him in the base of his neck, cutting his windpipe and main vein. He managed to walk 35 yards to the fence line before falling over. I ranged the shot later at 37 yards, with my old mid 1990's mathews conquest and calf hair finger tab.

Now that the pressure is off, I can have fun trying to get one of the old birds, or maybe I should shoot a jake to mount as a new decoy, this ones about shot.
