Just in case anyone was waiting for some of the new deer videos, I have a few video reviews.

Truth 11 Primos - Am about 3/4 through it. Double VHS tape set for about $16. Over 4 hours of footage. So far no "monster" bucks have been taken but a few in the 150 range I would guess. I really like Primos videos and definately recommend this one! Muddy gives it 2

Primos Truth 6 Elk - $10 on DVD or VHS. Another good video, not as good as last years but they do kill some monster elk on this one and they get some really good footage. They have several go down within sight of the camera and I love to see that. Another 2

Primos Big Game out West - Have not seen all of it, only bits and pieces while at work. So far, so good, just like all of their work.

Primetime Bulls - Hunter Specialties goes west basically. Have seen about 3/4 of it while working on bows at Scheels. I like the video but havn't decided on whether I 'need' it or not. There are a lot of rifle hunts on it and I prefer bowhunting...sooo, it's good, but not that great.

Any of the newest turkey videos...all OK but too much gun hunting. I'm strictly a bowhunter and really enjoy seeing them come in close. The double bull video is awesome as usual.

Am waiting to get Primetime 7 in DVD, we have it in VHS but havn't picked it up yet. From what I've seen only a couple of HS prostaffers hooked up on good bucks. The other big ones were from guys who were regular Joe's, taped their hunts, and then sent them in.

Havn't seen any of the MAD or Realtree ones yet.

Any questions as to the specifics or tactics let me know.

managed to do some "product testing" tonite at scheels. the new Primetime 7 video/DVD is awesome. great footage of some truly big bucks. the video of pat reeve is great and stan the man shoots a rather large 160 inch buck over a decoy. excellent video that i definately recommend and will also be buying!!

Kiskys Whitetail extreme Video should be good. A Good friend of mine arrows a 163 inch in Pike Co, Don Kisky a 212 inch in IA and soforth. They usually get good footage of some deer they don't shoot. It should be out soon.

Muddy, it was rumoured earlier that footage of Harlan Swehla's monster non-typical was to appear on Primetime 7...Is this true? I've searched for some answer but have yet to find any promising information.
Thanks,
Renegade Archer

i didn't see anything but i was "product testing" while working so it's possible i missed it. i think there's 2 DVD's in the set so maybe there's some special footage on the 2nd DVD like what primos did with the beatty buck. i'll look into it today...if i remember too!!!

auggie - how was that monster buck XI volumes 1 & 2?? just curious is all cuz you & ghost walker remind me of willie & t-bone.

That really hurts muddy, I really do like them there fish sticks though.

I watched the first one and am about halfway through the second. They are kind of reaching on their Monster Buck phrasing on the first but they do kill a couple decent ones. T-bone misses a easy shot at a doe which was pretty funny. On the second he connects with one and his tracking job is hilarious.
Ben Gordon hunts in Iowa on the second and kills a 130 class buck that he estimated by body and neck size that the deer was probably a 6 to 7 year old and my girlfriend even came into the living room to see what I was laughing at after he said that.
All in all I'd give them a "B" just cause I like watching their videos. Havn't watched the Truth 11 yet.
Shot my bow with the new arrows. Noticed quite a bit more speed and accuracy with the new stabilzer and it's even a little more quiet.

I've got one word that describes Monster Bucks XI..............LAME!!!!
They're worse than they were the last time I bought a tape, which has been a couple of years ago. Looks to me like 70% of their footage is add-in after the actual hunt is already over. I went into Gander looking for the new Primetime, but they didn't have it, unfortunaltely I picked this one up. It's safe to say that I won't be picking up Volume #2 though.

I have PT7 and have watched it about 4 times. The Schwela buck is not on there unless it is an additional feature on the DVD, cause I just have the VHS tape. Some of the footage looks to be taken by amatuers, little shaky and hard to follow some times. There are a few nice ones taken on there though. Eddie Salter saw a huge Iowa deer, but didn't get a shot.

Have not bought any others yet, Realtree videos aren't going on my shelf this year - I've seen too many hunts on the same ranches. Montanta and southern Texas particularly.

Muddy,
Is the PT 7 available on DVD? If so, where can I pick one up?

I talked to Stan Potts at the Deer Classic and he got pretty excited about the nice buck he shot over the decoy. He said they really got some good video footage???

they got awesome footage of it two beards. i know we have a few VHS tapes at scheels right now and within a week or two we'll have over 50 and some DVDs also.

Just finished watching Primetime 7 on DVD. Holy cow, this is probably the best deer video of the year. I would've liked to have seen more spot and stalk mulies like in the Primos videos but, you can't have it all I guess. They have incredible footage, big deer, and over 26 hunts on it. For around $10 it's the best money you'll spend!! I give it 5

nothing on the Swehlah buck on the DVD by the way.

Primetime 7 is a decent video but if I am being absolutly honest (impersonation of Simon Crowell of American Idol) They have done better in the past. There were a lot of times on the video I would expect them to pass bucks, namely 2.5 year olds and they sent arrows flying. These are people who have killed great bucks on earlier volumes. Like Muddy said though, good footage and some great bucks on tape. With the videos I've seen this year, it must have been slow for the video producers for them to shoot the bucks they did (primos, primetime, realtree). I think it is all about number of kills to them now rather than the quality of deer they are shooting....just my two cents. No offenses to the shooters on the videos though if what they are shooting, they consider a trophy.....

Drury outdoors did an excellant job this agian as usual. I recommend there video's and dvd's.

I recently picked up Primetime Bucks 7 and I was so impressed with the video, I ended up watching it 3x's the first day... There are some truly tremendous bucks taken on this video(Stan Potts', Steve Snow's, & John Hansen's bucks were all incredible) and the 14 pt. that was just outside of Eddy Salter's bow range was simply astonishing! I am amazed how the Primetime series consistently puts out great videos one after another, a rarity amongst all the various hunting video series out there. And yes, they have had better seasons but they did seem to keep the sense realism to the hunts, unlike some other videos I have seen. I love watching Stan's, from his phrases(just give me a second...) and his body language, its very evident how passionate he is for this great american sport. In my opinion, this is a must see for any avid bowhunter or whitetail enthusiast alike.

Sorry guys. I don't mean to stir the pot here but................Buying these videos contributes to the problem we've all talked about here before. TV show hunters coming in with big $$$'s and securing hunting rights to an area they know there's a trophy deer.

Many times displacing us middle class average run of the mill hunters.

Just for that reason I won't ever buy one. I guess that's my own small way of protesting what these guys are doing.

I also dropped the Outdoor Channel.
kickass.gif
There were a few show's that I enjoyed, but I got tired of watching all the same old canned hunts, then see these guys sit in front of the camera and say how proud they were to harvest an animal of that caliber........

Hey,guys I bought a classic from Stoney Wolf productions on DVD it is Hunting October Whitetails I and II. I agree that we could be cutting our own throats but Wenzel is a good old Montana Boy who asks for permission so I don't feel to bad about the purchase. It's funny that after all the tech changes in our sport how much good info is on these DVD and real stuff without fake editing inserted.

hey guys i know what you mean on the size of the deer they sometimes shoot seems to be small. my friend was taped last year, and the camera guy insisted him shoot a 125 or 130 bucks that he kept passing on. he said that most of the viewers, this is what they shoot, and they are also just trying to make a movie and sell it. also with limited times of hunting and the limited days in certain states they push to shoot the first descent buck that comes by.

Does anyone know what happened to Kenneth Lancaster on the Primos Truth 11. Did he get fired, hurt, or something else that he is not on any of the hunts.

holy crap, i got a bonus surprise in my import blind. my old boss at scheel gave me a different double bull video to go with my blind rather than "another year on the ground IV" it's good to keep up good relations with old work!!

i received and watched "Enter the Dark Archer, Invasion of !Ha N! Ore". 100% all african adventures with the double bull team. 24 kills from their ground blinds in 60 minutes. as usual they put their own flair into the video and i laughed my butt off!! i absolutely loved this video!! the one guy on here actually kills some little mourning dove thingy with a blowgun...these guys are KU-KOOO, Ku-KOOOO!!
